FENCE horse trials recap: As always, FENCE put on a wonderful spring event that was the first of the season for many of us this year. All of my riders finished on their dressage scores this weekend so we are coming out strong! Special congrats to Naia and Seeker for winning the starter division. I had the honor of taking Sandi Burgdorf’s mare O’Connor K “Kacey” and we took home the blue ribbon on a score of 25 in the open BN

Fun weekend at the Fork horse trials! Congratulations to Abby and Lainey for winning their BN division. Catherine and Buddy were close behind in 4th place. And it was a pleasure to watch Elena and Beezie cruise around the training level with ease. Great job ladies!

Zuzon at the FRC schooling dressage show. His 3 flying changes across the diagonal were relaxed and clean and we got a glorious 7 on his walk! No mr jazz hands passaging-walk as likes to do 😂

I had the honor of getting to showcase some of the upcoming fall collection by Pearl by Lela Rose. I think Cactus, Merlot and Zuzon didn’t mind the extra attention 😊

River Glen horse trials complete! Ella and Jazz finished second place in their first training level event. Catherine cruised around her first BN with Buddy with Teddy and Beezie hot on her heels! We were blessed to have super groom Johari joining us as she is home for the summer from college

Thank you windridge farms for hosting such a beautiful horse trail. Bragging rights go to Camille and Rosie for winning the intro(their second win in a row now!), Catherine and Buddy: 2nd in starter, Abby and Whim: 3rd in the novice and Alex and Bentley: 4th in their first beginner novice!

Tryon dressage show last weekend was a big success! Merlot scored a 68.5% in the PSG a new best for us. Zuzon thoroughly enjoyed showing off in the ring and put in his best work in his hardest test on Sunday: 4th level test 1. Cactus Willie was the most relaxed and rideable he has maybe ever been in the dressage ring and won both his 3rd level classes!

He’s clocked in tons of miles of trail riding and hunter paces. Brave in the jumping; ditch, water, bank no problem! A little green in the flatwork, but he is willing and I think will be very capable of laying down a nice dressage score. Reasonably priced for a quick sale.

Now that I’ve had a week to settle in here in Ocala, I have a special treat ready to help me stay connected with all my students back home. Every Sunday I will be releasing a fun exercise that will be easy to set up and ride at home. You can try it out and send me some videos for critique. It’s $25/rider at the beginning of each week to receive the exercise and you have until that sat to send in your videos. The first one is ready starting tonight(1/8) and will close sat 1/14

Had a great time showing Kathy’s horse Zuzon this weekend at FRC. I’m so excited he will be coming with me for the Ocala season. The weekend also garnered two 2nd places: Jemma and Buddy got 2nd in the starter CT and Bella got an impressive 71.8% on her first dressage test ever(not pictured because it was pouring rain!)

Fun day at the FRC schooling show. Kacey and I won the starter division, closely followed by Abby J in 2nd and Abby W in 3rd :) Meredith cruised around her first xc course and Jemma piloted Jay around his first show jump course away from home. Kaiya(who somehow missed our photo shoot here :p no surprise really) showed her dedication by signing up for two dressage tests to practice for the upcoming events!
