Hello everyone!

A few weeks ago I sent out an email to each client titled "Upcoming Changes to Future Cat Sitting". If you haven't read this, please check your spam folder otherwise this will come as a surprise.

In April I will be moving out of state permanently. This has been a difficult decision and for those who I have contacted, this has been really difficult as I adore each and every one of you and your feline families. I don't want to get into much detail here on this post, other than I need to do it to get my health on track and being in a state without closer contacts (family/friends) and where grasses exist (highly allergic) it has become more difficult.

I have a wonderful person taking over all things Paws At Home related and another who has agreed to help with sitting and dog related grooming. I will be sharing the information with those who contact me directly (catching up on emails now) and will post in March.

I thank you all for the kind words, support, and trust you have given me throughout these last two years. I will miss you all!!

Winter weather and travel update:

Tis the season for old man winter to bring on the storms. For those of you traveling and having me come by your home please keep in touch! Travel plans can be disrupted and/or canceled - please know I am flexible as much as possible. I'd like to skip your home if you end up staying in!

This week is completely booked - one client each hour bracket, each day. This is normal for this time of year. However, if your travel plans are extended due to flights changed please know I will do my best to accommodate but I may not be able to stay longer than a few minutes on unscheduled dates.

I am also needing to take it slow and be safe during my travels around the cities. The visits with your kitties may not be the average 30-45 minutes each day due to road conditions. They will also check in with you each day but it may be later than the actual visit.

I am keeping communication as open as I can. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Holiday booking:

These are the dates that have at least one slot open-

Dec 5-8
Dec 13-21
Dec 24
Dec 30-Jan 25

Please reach out if you aren't sure if you booked or would like to confirm your booking. I would much rather someone text me multiple times to double check than not check at all.

Cancelation policy:
Please let me know as soon as you know you won't need your spot reserved. There is no cancelation fee on normal dates - holidays will be the daily charge on that day only if not notified within 72 hours of date. Ex - if you cancel for 3 days but one of those days is a holiday, and do not give more than 72 hours notice, you will be charged the $20 for that holiday only.

There is a waiting list and a potential for those traveling last minute to still get on the books for an "express visit". This visit is food/medications/necessities only and lasts approximately 5 minutes max. This is only possible if you are located within a 10 minute drive from my current bookings. Please message me for details.

Out-of-town dates:

December 9th afternoon-12th afternoon
January 26th-February 4th (out of country)
May 17th-24th
August 15th-20th (out of country)

The last two dates are tentative as the plane tickets have not been purchased. These dates CAN be moved in the event a client will be out of town. I will update once tickets are purchased (approx 2 months before travel).

During my international travels I will have limited service. I will most likely have my back up sitter return calls and schedule appointments due to the time difference and calling fees. I do have Whatsapp, Telegram, and Zoom in the event you need to reach me sooner. Email is always easiest during travels. ([email protected])

I will have a back up during these travels and can arrange a meet and greet as well. Please reach out if you are in need of a sitter during these times and I will connect you with my back up sitter.

I thank you ALL for your wonderful support and continuing to trust me with your felines. I never imagined this would turn into a full time gig but I'm so happy it did! Now I'm attempting to take a few days off occasionally for my own health ☺ thank you for that! - Lisa

Hello everyone! I'm wrapping up my last two days with my overnights and trying to get caught up with invoicing. If you receive an invoice statement with a weird payment amount, please ignore these requests. I'm having a little issue with the invoicing app and have to do multiple invoices at times to get the calculations correct.

Additionally, I do have an intern of sorts who is assisting me in some cat sitting in the southern suburbs. She's wonderful with kitties and has been doing a fantastic job. Barring her ability to stay with me through the holidays, we may be able to take on more clients south of the cities! Don't forget to book for your holiday travel plans as soon as you can :)

Just a quick reminder! Please submit (message/text) your tentative travel plans for the 2022 end of year holiday season. These spots fill up super quick so I want to be sure nobody will be missing out on the pictures from their favorite felines during their travels! Exact dates not needed until 2 weeks before travel!

Hello! So a few updates :

Health - I am on the mend to whatever was zapping my brain. They are still there but rather than hundreds a day, it's down to maybe a half dozen. I took a couple of my slower days and just slept - a lot. Needless to say, I'm behind in my packing /moving but my health comes first.

Second - the books for September are pretty much closed. I only have a few spots open on random days which I am saving for the last minute trips clients need to take that I don't already know about. I am taking bookings through the end of the year so if you "might" travel for the holidays let me know! Let's get you in there before it gets too late.

The first two weeks of November I will have my best friend visiting from Scotland. I don't bring others along for sitting or nail trims without permission first so please let me know during bookings if you're comfortable with another person in your home. He may be helping as a back up during his time here if need be so I really would like to check on who is comfortable with that.

I have a couple trips in the works for 2023 - late January and early June (after memorial day). If you know of any events you will be attending at that time please let me know. I am able to schedule my vacations (3 to 5 days) around others but these require plane tickets that I will need to get.

Lastly, my current back up is moving out of the cities to a better opportunity. If you or someone you know is interested in being a back up sitter, please reach out.

Hello! A couple things regarding my personal life and Facebook issues that I'd like to address.

For those of you who have been in the loop, I finally found a place and will be moving on the 1st. This is a huge step for me and my kitties as we really need our own space and ability to be ourselves again.

Second, I've been battling some health issues this week. I spent some quality time 🙄 in the ER on Friday for really no answers. Lots of tests which concluded nothing noteworthy on their end, but still concerning in general. The best they can describe it is "brain zaps". Upon standing and upright movement I get these zaps that go down my head - usually followed by uncontrolled rapid eye movement, memory issues (thankful for my calendar!), and extreme fatigue. Of course my body decides that peak travel season is the best time to be wonky. I've been referred to a neurologist but without insurance it's going to be a challenge.

I have a couple very busy weeks ahead of me in regards to hanging out with all the kitties. Please note that I am on my feet, adjusting my movements and life to these random symptoms the best that I can, and will be there for your kitties. I may not be able to do as much of the "clean up" of litter and dishes as normal but I will try my best! I ave a few days scattered through August and my trips in September that will be providing much needed "downtime" that I hope will get my body back on a reset.

Also - I am still in search of a secondary sitter. If you have anyone in mind who has experience with cats, has a clean background and driving history (I will free doing very thorough checks), and an overall meowgical purrsonality send them my way!

Today I made the decision to put nail caps on my cats. They have never scratched up anything other than their own furniture until we moved into our current residence. There are lots of nay-sayers regarding nail caps - they could be dangerous, cats could swallow them, etc. If done properly and instructions are followed these could save lots of troubles when it comes to destroying furniture (we are staying at someone's place, I could care less if they destroyed my things) or if you have vulnerable individuals visiting who might get injured by a cat scratch.

Hello again! As some of you know, I've been fighting a very stubborn case of pneumonia for the last week. I'm slowly getting on my feet and have an emergency back up in place in the event I end up in the ER again. Feeling like I'm finally on the mend to getting back in my routines - I have began scheduling nail trims and sitting again for this week. Thank you all for your kind words as I fought through this gnarly battle and the struggle of moving as well.

Hello! So as some of you know I've had to reschedule nail trims due to being sick. I finally went to the ER and found out it was pneumonia - after one day of antibiotics I'm finally beginning to feel human again.
