That’s a wrap!! One full week of Horse Camp at a the Shady Acre. Our hearts are full and we hope everyone learned new things, made new friends and grew their love of horses. 💕🐴 We finished the week with a pizza party and we watched Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron. 🐴💕

💕🐴 Day 4 of Horse Camp and we are still going strong!! Walk trot lessons, crafting, learning about colors and loving on Miss Gracie May, our fantastic Great Dane. 🐾

Desensitization! This is SO important for any horse, but especially horses that are going to be around children. We work with our horses ALL THE TIME and challenge them with different kinds of interactions/stimulus so they are prepared for all the things kids can do around them. Tarps are a great way to teach them that even if something is kind of scary, they can trust us, to keep them safe, and they don't need to run away or "spook,"

Hi I’m Dani! I’m the owner of The Shady Acre and my goal in starting this small business adventure, is to share the joy that comes with being around and interacting with horses. I am a mom to three beautiful little girls ages 6 ,4 & 2 who adore horses and agree that sharing our horses with others is a pretty good idea. We want to provide a safe, fun and calm environment for children to explore their interest in horses and to build their confidence around horses.
