I had the pleasure of meeting Nugget and his family this past Saturday! This handsome little man has been special from the day he was born, with all the odds stacked against him from the second he took his first breath of air. He was born with a cleft palate, a wishbone back, with loss of mobility in his back end and some neurological issues. Nugget was surrendered because of his disabilities and he was going to be put down if his family didn’t save him that day. His parents adopted him and tube fed him from day 1 and he has had TWO surgeries. But none of these things have stopped him yet!! He is now 3 years old!! He is happy, healthy, and just loving life as his little Nugget self! Most people look past the ones with special needs, but I happen to be one of those who seeks them out as my own pets and I’m a huge proponent of people adopting animals with special needs. It’s not for everyone, but the experience and the bond that is created is absolutely, unfathomably, THEEE best and most unforgettable experience you will ever encounter. I look forward to seeing Nugget and his family again soon!
