4 weeks ago I reluctantly took on a pregnant mama barn cat that was facing a troubling fate. I couldnt let that happen. She is an amazingly sweet cat! I have really enjoyed getting to know and love her these last few weeks and was looking forward to seeing her babies, as were my children.
My plan was to foster her and these kittens until she and her babies were ready to be vetted and rehomed. I have been watching her close these last few weeks and Thursday she started showing signs she was going to deliver soon. Days passed and she just wasnt progressing normally. This morning it was clear something was wrong, so I loaded her up and brought her to the ER Vet.
Unfortunately, she will not be able to deliver these babies on her own 😢 and all but 1 baby appear to be deceased. She is currently in surgery now to save her and the one remaining life inside her.
I’m so thankful for Hatton agreeing to cover this procedure and I would really, really appreciate it if you all could donate to help cover this expense and their unwavering commitment to rescue and saving lives. I know it is a lot to ask. Especially in these trying times. But please, if you can spare any amount we would be so thankful. If it weren’t for Hatton I’m not sure what I would have done or what would have happened to Story.
Hatton has stepped up to take on quite a few animals I have come across in my travels. To date they have given a safe landing space and life saving veterinary care to : 3 goats, 3 ducks, 1 dog, 1 sheep and now Story. I am so beyond grateful for them🙏🏻
Thank you all.
