Headed out to feed my farm and this is my go to fit when it’s extremely cold!!!

It’s currently 28 degrees, 30mph wind gusts and a real feel of 19 degrees. This storm is almost here! Dress warm and make sure your animals are set! Wind proof shelters (wind chill is worse than cold) stuff them with deep bedding of straw to help keep them snug as a bug in a rug. Offer hay inside their shelters so they are able to eat all day and night without having to go out in the frigid air!

The rumen (goats) acts like a little internal heater, eating hay helps keep them warmer in harsh temps.

Straw is hollow and acts like a warm puffer jacket like I am wearing here and keeps your animals nice and insulated in their shelters.

If you are going to use a heat lamp please use premiere one heat lamps (considered the safest option) and ensure it is hung well above the bedding and accidental bumping from your animals.

Make sure your animals water is checked at least twice a day and they have fresh, clean, UNFROZEN water to drink.

A little extra … all animals love warm water! Consider bringing out some warm water for them and watch them guzzle it down!

Stay warm! Stay safe! And try to enjoy the snow while it lasts.

Booked to trim a mini pig ✅ got ya covered 🙌🏼 client also asked if we could help with her Zebu 😳 “ehhh I don’t know how to trim cows but I can certainly try….”

Mission accomplished and I did a dang good job if I do say so myself! It certainly helped that Bruno was such a good little zebu boy and so well behaved! His feet look much, much better. Sorry didn’t have my phone for before and after.

I’d like to thank The Hoof GP, Nate the Hoof Guy and Keeping cows moovin for all your glorious tiktok videos that I love oh so much for giving me a good basis for how to trim a cow. 🤣

And no, I will not be adding cows to my service list on the regular 😘

Molly our bearded dragon deserved her own video . She has never had a horn worm before. At her age bugs aren’t good to give her on the regular. So these days she only gets them here and there. Santa brought her an extra special treat though and she loved it!

Please be mindful that weather gets touchy in Jan and Feb. Rescheduling due to weather happens the most in these months. I do my best to move rescheduled days to a weekend so you won’t wait as long for an open day 🙂

It breaks my heart to post but poor Snowman. Passed away suddenly and now Harry needs a buddy. Their owner Robin is a wonderful goat mama and she is looking for a large breed (castrated/wethered) boy with NO HORNS to join the family and keep Harry company. If you have or know of a large breed goat needing a new home please post below or send me a message with details. Ideally she would like one on the friendlier side. She will also consider a doe as well. Free ideally. This is a great home it truly gets no better!
