It was cleaning day on our Theloderma corticale (Vietnamese Mossy Frog) river tank. We took the time to clear out any easily accessible tadpoles and transition them to a separate rearing tank. We should have some froglets out by the start of winter 🤞.

So the I guess the fall breeding cycle is close to starting. If the rains continue to keep coming our way there will be a lot more of this. Even without plants leaves to battle over the male Red-Eyed Tree Frogs can still be quite enthusiastic for a particular spot.

The plants used were sourced from @thebiodude and are Homalomena Emerald Gem. We had a lot of success using this plant for some of our other long term paludariums.

Our pair of Japanese Fire Bellied Newts (Cynops pyrrhogaster) presented a few opportunities for some fun video clips. @dirtdaddyllc gave us the inspiration after his local excursion and stream video a few weeks ago. Admittedly our clips aren’t as refined. However, these two have settled in since moving out of their quarantine enclosure into this more visually appealing enclosure; just waiting for more plants.
