🚨 Meet Stormy! This handsome boy visited for urinary issues. He loved getting the chin scratches in the second photo🥰🐾🐈

Thankfully, X-rays showed **no obstruction**, but his urine sample revealed **urinary crystals**—a common cause of discomfort and straining in male cats.

To help, our vet prescribed a special **urinary diet** to dissolve the crystals and keep his bladder healthy. Urinary issues in male cats can be serious, so if your kitty is straining or having accidents, don’t wait—seek care ASAP! 💙🐾

🐾 Meet Captain! 🐶⚓

This brave boy came to with a painful broken nail—something we see quite often! To keep him comfy, our team gave him a little sedation so our doctor could safely remove the damaged nail. Captain handled it like a champ, and we wrapped up his paw with a stylish bandage while he heals. 💙🐾

🐶👀 Meet Reba, the adorable pup who visited for some eye troubles!
We take eye health seriously for all pets—no matter the species. That’s why we perform a **stain test** to check for scratches and a **tear production test** to rule out dryness.

✅ Reba went home with the care she needed, including soothing eye ointment and pain relief to help her feel better.

**Meet Merlin: A Tiny Troublemaker with a Big Meow! 🐾**

This week, we had the pleasure of meeting Merlin, a spunky 9-week-old kitten who came to Falls Church for a check-up due to a low appetite and constipation. Despite his symptoms, Merlin's energy and personality were shining through—he made sure the whole clinic knew he was here with his loud meows! 🎤😻

We ran a thorough check-up, including stool testing and a feline triple test to rule out parasites and feline viruses. Great news—Merlin’s tests came back negative! 🎉 We sent him home with a topical parasite treatment and deworming to help him feel his best. We can’t wait to hear how he’s doing on his next adventure!

🐾 **Meet Sweet Chloe! 🐾**

This week, we had the pleasure of caring for Chloe, a 14-year-old Yorkie mix with a heart full of love (and a bit of a cough). She came to see us for some itchy ears and that pesky cough, and we got right to work!

After taking X-rays and giving her thorough supportive care, we also gave her ears some much-needed TLC. Now she’s feeling fresher and more comfortable! 💕

Chloe reminded us how important it is to keep a close eye on our senior pets. Even small symptoms can signal something bigger, so don’t wait to get them checked out! 🩺

🐾✨ **A Heartwarming Act of Kindness** ✨🐾

This week, we witnessed the beauty of compassion in action.

A good Samaritan walked into Falls Church with a tiny puppy they found wrapped in a blanket outside, shivering and alone. 💔 Thanks to their big heart, this sweet pup received the care they desperately needed.

Our team thoroughly examined the little one, running tests for intestinal parasites, blood sugar levels, and parvovirus. We're thrilled to share that all results came back negative, and the puppy's blood sugar was within normal range. 🙌 We provided deworming, hydration under the skin, and gave recommendations for supportive care to ensure a strong start for this adorable bundle of fur.

Whether this kind soul decides to give the puppy a forever home or helps find one, we're grateful for their incredible act of love. 💕 It’s people like this who remind us that every pet in need deserves a chance to be safe, healthy, and loved.

Say hello to Boris, the most handsome Boston Terrier with the sweetest puppy eyes! 🐶💖 This dashing gentleman came in to see us after a little *ouchie*—a broken nail on his paw. 🐾😢

Boris was such a champ! 💪 We gave him a quick pain injection to make him feel comfy, removed the damaged nail, and wrapped his paw in the *trendiest* vet-approved bandage (paw fashion is so in right now). 😉✨ He strutted out of the clinic with some pain meds and lots of extra TLC from his family.

We’re wishing Boris a speedy recovery—and sending virtual belly rubs his way! 🐕💞

🐾✨ **A Unique Visitor at UrgentVet Falls Church!** ✨🐾

Meet Smeagol, a stunning Lykoi cat (yes, the *werewolf cat* breed!) who visited us for frequent urination. While his tiny bladder kept us from getting a urine sample under the microscope, we were able to send him home with pain medications to keep him comfortable. 🏡💊

Smeagol was such a *sweetheart* during his visit—chatting away with our team and charming everyone with his unique looks and loving personality. 🖤🐺

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!
