FCK Kolter's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot "Whiskey"

We are excited about this little girl and the places she will lead us to! Whiskey is a Boykin Spaniel that comes from a great line of hunting/hunt test dogs! She has already shown she will be a force to be reckoned with, taking no flack from labs already! She has also already been introduced to her first hunt test weekend and took it in stride! We couldn't be happier with spunky, loveable personality! Welcome to the pack Whiskey Girl!

Things have been a little rough around here since saying goodbye to Zeus but he wouldn't want us to stay grieving forever.

So, we have some new faces to introduce...Max, Cooper and Luther have come for some training! These three have already shown they are eager to learn. Luther is here for some touch up/boarding for a month, Cooper is here to work on handling skills and Max is here to learn it all!

Today, everyone got some field time before the humidity got too bad! Thor and Max thought it was a nice break from the force fetch table..lol!

Kolter's Blackwater Marauder "Zeus" 6/16/14 - 4/24/24

Posts like these are never easy but this one is hitting particularly hard. Our hearts are broken, our house is colder, the barn is quieter and a red Jolly Egg sits lonely in the yard. Zeus filled all those spaces with his bigger than life attitude! He was happy to be in the house cuddling but happiest when hunting! When he entered our lives 9 yrs ago, he had some pretty big paw prints to fill but that didn't intimidate him at all! Zeus very quickly showed us that he would be a force to be reckoned with and never stopped! Any challenge we put in front of him, he was happy to accept it! Zeus filled those paw prints left by Drake and left some even bigger ones, that we know, Thor will fill! We also know that Zeus will never really leave us, he will live on in our memories and we will see him as Thor grows up to fill in that space left by his dad. Thanks for ride, big guy, you will never be forgotten!

I'm feeling a little Déjà Vu here...lol! Thor is definitely his father's son! Force fetch is in full swing and coming along nicely (he must get that from his mother..lol)!

And so it begins......

No one likes force fetch but we feel it is a necessity for our dogs. Thor was introduced to the table tonight and began, officially, working on the "hold" command. He had already been introduced to the words without pressure, so he did very well tonight! The next several weeks will not be fun but we are excited to get his training moving forward!

Kolter's Riptide Tobias Star "Tobi" hits double digits today! My favorite piece of chocolate is 10yrs old! How is that even possible? He has definitely made the last 10yrs memorable, some good, some bad but none I want to forget...lol! He has taught me so much in our time together and I will definitely cherish the time we have left. So here's to you, brown dog....Happy Birthday, Tobi! ❤️🐾

Dixie had been with us for the better part of the last 2 1/2 yrs. To say that she will be missed is an understatement! However, after getting her HR title, our little Dixie girl went home last month to get ready for hunting season and await the arrival of her family's new babies. She is checking things off her list of what needs to be done!

Go hunting ✔️
Retrieve birds ✔️
Await babies arrival.....impatiently waiting 🙄

Two outta three in a month ain't bad!
Good girl, Miss Dix, we are sure gonna miss you!
