We had another successful Out and About class. These pups practiced their public manners, training with distractions and confidence building in new places. Way to go pups! 🐶🐾

Make training with your dog a daily commitment. Use their meal time as a reminder for you to do work with them for 3 mins or more. Dogs like to use their brain and they typically love food. So it is a win win. Ask them to perform behaviors they already know 4-6 times in a row. Example- Sit four times. Each success (make It easy for them to succeed) gets them some of their kibble. Then move onto another task. See our Handout. We give these out in private lessons to remind people to work with their dog at least a little bit every day. 3 mins a day (more if you have time) can improve your dogs response time to your requests aka cues continue to build the bond you have with them and release mental energy for them. Dogs that don't get enough mental exercise tend to me more anxious and more mischievous aka bored. Helping them will help you enjoy your time with them more.

I am excited to be back at the Moorhead Kennel Club again this weekend for Agility. Remember the staged photos are for everyone, your pup does not need to earn a Title for this. Just ask me and I am happy to take your photo.

January is train your dog month! Now is a good time to tackle some of the behaviors you are struggling with. If jumping, being crazy meeting people and pulling on leash are topics you want to work on, then enroll in our Jumping problem , leash walking to class.

It is 4 weeks. Meets on Wednesday at 5pm.
Start 1/15/2025. Class is 50 mins long.

Local pet store owner Michelle Smith "does so much for all the rescues," Cats Cradle Shelter's executive director said. Each Thanksgiving meal purchased at Natural Pet Center feeds shelter pets.

Pet safety tips! Remember pay attenattention to your dogs and give them breaks from a busy setting like a family gathering. They get stressed in busy or new settings. Be sure to give them a quiet space to have some time alone or with you.
Put the garbage can in an area they can’t get to it. Holiday times are the highest occurrences of trips the Emergency room for companion animals.
