Tri Vet Associates is a mixed animal veterinary clinic, with offices in Farley, Dyersville, and Holy Cross. We cover a large area from Dubuque, to Manchester and Guttenburg, to Cascade. Our eight doctors and support staff provide veterinary services to the large and small animals of the surrounding area. Chapman, Goerdt and Rahe established a clinic in Farley. During those early years, our practic

e was almost exclusively farm animals. Our practice has grown and changed since then. Now, a significant percentage of our practice is pets. Today five of our doctors focus on large animals, either traveling the countryside or providing care for cattle hauled into our facility. Three of our doctors focus on both large and small animals, also traveling the countryside as well as caring for dogs, cats, and pocket pets in our Farley and Dyersville offices. The Farley office is our main clinic. In Farley, the large animal area has pens and chutes for working cattle, a tilt table, facilities capable of handling bulls, and cattle surgery areas. The clinic also has small animal facilities that house a state of the art surgery room, medicine treatment room, new spacious dog runs and cat areas, and comfortable exam rooms. Also in Farley is a bacteriology lab, conference room, and doctor’s reference library. The Dyersville office was built in 1998 to accommodate dogs, cats, and pocket pets, although many large animal products are sold through the office. The clinic contains a spacious surgery area, medicine treatment room, comfortable dog runs, and a calm cat boarding area. The Holy Cross office serves as a satellite clinic and stocks large animal supplies for producers in the Holy Cross area.

Dogs don’t wear shoes so watch the temperature of the sidewalk when you take your pet for a walk.

If needed walk on the grass or buy them doggy shoes to protect their feet. Burns hurt and heal slowly. 🥵

There are a lot of parasites that can affect kittens and puppies that may seem like nothing in the early stages but can lead to diarrhea, vomiting or weight loss if left untreated. Early stages signs could be loose stools or a dull haircoat.

🪱Parasites are found in the environment but also can be spread in utero or during ingestion of the mother’s milk. Kittens and puppies are especially susceptible when exposed due to their age.

💩 It’s important to provide a stool sample to screen these patients, especially those with symptoms.

FIREWORK 🧨 season is approaching!
We humans love fireworks for many reasons, but many pets do not. If your pet(s) are scared of fireworks or are anxious during this holiday, let us help you help them.

🏠 Bring your pet indoors long before fireworks begin and create a quiet space for them to feel safe. Use calming aids such as ThunderShirts, calming supplements, white noise or toys. Close windows and screen doors.

🏷️ Make sure they have a collar with updated tags on them incase they run off. Also update their microchip information. Many dogs have a flight response to loud sounds and bright lights and can go missing or cause injury.

💊 In some cases, medications are necessary to help your pet feel more calm and less anxious. Please consult with our office if this is needed.

Jack, son of Dr. Kluesner, and Landon, son of Angie Borgerding, took to the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis for a baseball game last Saturday. Davenport Assumption was their opponent, with the game following the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds matchup. The event offered a unique experience for the Beckman players, with tickets providing access to both games.
