Slew, our beloved 27-year-old Thoroughbred, has been a cherished member of the Texas Equine family for a couple years almost and with his owner for about 17. Recently, he has been facing significant health challenges, struggling with severe pain and mobility issues. We now know that he is dealing with three separate issues: ringbone in his left front foot, a bowed tendon in his front right leg, and an undiagnosed issue with his back right hip that could be a misalignment or a pinched nerve.

THIS!!!! Yes, this is what our mornings are like in the winter months. Just in case you were wondering. We really do have to break up the ice, fish it out, our hands are purple and almost frost-bitten. BUT….. ask me if it’s worth it and I say 100%! We love both our horses and riders!! I want to also give tremendous appreciation for our volunteers!!! Especially Iva! She is so dedicated and we truly are thankful to her for all that she does!!! 🩷
