End of an era… 🥲

Jax has officially entered retirement today as he is visiting the Vet for his “snip snip” appointment. I took a couple pictures of him on the way to the Vet (added to this post). The baton has now officially been passed to Gunner and Fonzie, as they are the new faces of Big Lake Goldens.

I’m really happy I got to keep one of Jax’s boys (Maverick) from his last litter. I can’t wait to see how Maverick develops. We will see what his future holds. Meanwhile, Jax is going to take it easy on the sofa with the fam and add about 5-10 pounds of “belly” in honor of his retirement.

Jax, you have always been the heart and soul of Big Lake Goldens. I thank you for everything you’ve done. Love you, big guy. Now, it’s time to hang out and enjoy life!

Nicholas Sylve, thank you for not taking no as an answer. This boy is one of the best things to ever come into my life.

It sure would be fun to see a few pictures of Jax’s kids. If any of you have the time, can you please share? It would make my day if I could see a few.

What a great weekend! We went into this weekend with puppy pick up day on the horizon and with 3 puppies still available. Puppy pick up day was such a fun time and we met a lot of smiling faces. What can be better than that? Well, we were also able to find homes for the final 3 puppies! Thank you everyone for your continued support. We will be posting pictures of all the adults playing around the house the next couple months. Next puppies are expected end of summer!! Here are a few pictures from puppy pick up day!

Sorry about the puppy background noise. I’m trying to clean the kennel where Pearl and Gunner’s puppies are (still 2 available), and I see this little guy at it again. I had to get my phone out and record because I knew what he was about to do. SMH, this little man is a MESS!! Still have one boy available from this litter also!

We still have two boys remaining from Pearl and Gunner’s litter and one boy remaining from Jax and Abby’s litter.

These little guys are set to go to their permanent homes this weekend, April 6th! It would be great to get them all paired with their forever homes. We have discounted them 25% off as an incentive to you. I didn’t want to post this yesterday because I didn’t want you to think 25% off was an April Fool’s joke 😂.

*Note - we will be making puppy selections on April 6th when everyone can see the puppies in person, so I don’t know WHICH boys are available at this time. If you’d like to wait until after pickup day, and if we still have puppies available, I will be more than happy to share pictures.

I just received this from one of our puppy parents today. They got a little girl from our Gunner and Shirley litter from March 16th. They ran into some personal stuff really quickly and they asked for my help to find a suitable home for her. Here’s the email they sent along with pictures. If any of you are interested in a 10 week old girl, please reach out to me by PM and I will put you in contact with them.

Jax and Abby’s puppies also went to the Vet today. They did great!!! Ready to go home to their families on April 6th. We still have one boy remaining from this litter. I reccomend these puppies to families with active lifestyles. They will have drive and will love to play… HARD!!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is pick up day for Jax and Pinky’s puppies. I was a little worried at the beginning of this week because we still had 1 boy and 2 girls available. I’m happy to say that they’ve all been claimed and the new families will make the trip to our home to meet their little babies for the first time! Sound off if you see your name! 🙋‍♂️🙋

**Update**
All puppies from the Jax + Pinky litter have been claimed! Congrats to Allison, Rachel, and Ken who scooped up the final three puppies from this litter today!

We’ve been getting quite a few inquiries about the Pinky + Jax litter the last couple days. Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I know some of you are speaking with family before making a decision. Just wanted to give an update:

We are down to just two females remaining.

Again, I don’t know which two girls because we actually make selections on puppy pick up day, which is scheduled for this Saturday, when this litter reaches 8 weeks of age.

As an incentive to get these little girls matched up with homes, we have lowered the price 25%. If you are interested in getting one of these little ones, please send a PM. I would love to get them matched with homes as soon as possible.

Pinky’s puppies went to the Vet today to get their first checkup and first round of shots. All passed with flying colors!! The Vet has approved their release to go home!

We still have availability in this litter. We have 1 boy and 2 girls still available! We have lowered to cost as an incentive to get these little ones into their permanent homes. Please send me a PM if you are interested.

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know where we stand with available puppies. We’ve received SEVERAL inquiries the last few days with a lot of people asking who’s left. We’ve also received a few deposits, so previous numbers are now incorrect. So, with that being said, as of this morning, here’s our puppy availability per litter:

So, I’ve been keeping a little bit of a secret. Some people know, but it’s time to come clean:

Jax and Abby had 6 boys and 3 girls on Feb 13th. This is a “one time only” litter between these two. Both parents are clearly in the red spectrum for coat color, with Abby being the darkest of all my Goldens. These puppies will grow up to be highly-trainable, athletic dogs, perfect for retrieving, field trials, etc.

We have limited availability and these puppies should be matched with families who spend most of their time outdoors. These dogs will thrive in an active environment, such as retrieving, swimming, running, jumping, or all of the above. These puppies should not be treated as “lay around the house” dogs. We’ve got plenty of those still available from other litters. They will have drive and will be best fit for families with active lifestyles.

Pick up date for these puppies will be April 6th. If you’re interested in getting one of these puppies, please send a PM.
