It was a windy cold day at the farm. The horses can get a little loopy in this weather! Found Captain just chillin' on the bridge, staring at who-knows-what, Go figure! Even the coldest days bring on beautiful sunsets 🌅

It's days like these on the ranch that I love getting calls and texts from folks worried about the 'lifeless' horses in the field. Spoiler alert, these horses are ridiculously pampered and are simply indulging in some well-deserved afternoon naps. 😀

Moments like this are very rare and precious. Horses are basically giant scaredy-cats especially when vulnerable. But this gentle giant, My Eternal Optimist (aka Moose), loves to cuddle like a puppy - and he's 17.3 hands high and close to 1700 lbs.! He loves to lay his head on my lap and soak up the sun. ❤️❤️

One of the hardest things about being a horse owner is sometimes we have to set one free. You always wonder, could I have done more, did she know how much she was loved. It NEVER gets easier. My “free spirit” girl crossed the rainbow bridge today. I was so blessed to have known her. She truly was a special horse with a personality as big as she was! Fly high my free Spirit you were loved and will be missed. A special Thank you to Jacqueline Tanzi and Sarah Werner for working with her and loving her like I did.
