Any of you who have worked with our team over the last 2 years are familiar with our Veterinary Nurse, Kristin. She has been an amazing addition and she certainly makes my job easier. Kristin works directly with all our hospice families, performs quality of life visits for families who need guidance and she provides backup support to all the doctors who are out on the road.

On top of all this, this summer she started working on becoming certified as a hospice and palliative care technician. Her studies will continue to summer 2023 at which point she'll need to pass an exam to achieve her certification. You've got this, Kristin!!

To go along with our new logo, we've just launched our new website!
www.crossroadsvethospice.com

After 7+ years of designing and maintaining this on my own (while knowing nothing about how to do so!), we've finally updated. Take a look and let me know what you think!

And can I add, I love seeing the support and interaction from the people and families I have worked with over the years. Thank you so much for continuing to support us! 💕

I thought I'd do some updates on all the things we have been working on....

First up, we have a new logo!
We'll be updating this across social media, forms, apps and all the other nooks and crannies where a logo tends to hide. (So. Many. Places!!)

We hope you like our new look!

I'm about 6 months behind in making this announcement!
In May, Dr. Kristen Mitchell joined Crossroads Veterinary Hospice. I knew she'd be perfect when I met her. She brings a caring heart and a passion for this work. I'm so happy to have her as part of our team!

What did you do to make today a good day?

What did you do to make today a good day?

People ask me all the time how I can work around so much death. I think that is a fair question. I have witnessed hundreds of last breaths, and I do see a lot of death. But I also see life, and love, and faith, and strength, and so much bravery.

Sometimes I witness a death that feels so unfair. That was my experience yesterday. I want to scream out loud “WHY?” But with that I also witness the beauty of people coming together at these most difficult times, supporting one another and rallying around those who feel broken.

This isn’t easy work.
I have difficult days.

People don’t ask me how my day is because they are afraid I’m going to tell them. If you work in this field you know.

Ask us how our day is.
Lean in and listen…. We’ve got some things we could share, that while difficult, might remind you how fragile and precious life is… encouraging you to not take anything for granted.

I don’t work “In The Back” anymore.
For years I did.
And this is such an accurate description.
So for those of you who fear your pet going to “The Back”, don’t worry. ❤️
