Ticks have become much more prevalent in our area. With more ticks comes more lyme disease. This is a lifelong condition that can cause lameness, swollen joints, anorexia, weight loss, and affect the kidneys. The best defence is by using a flea and tick preventative and being vaccinated (in canines) for lyme. Here's more info: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/lyme-disease-in-dogs
