Canine influenza, or “dog flu,” is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can be passed from dog to dog. It typically starts with a cough and can be mistaken for the more common and well-known Bordetella. In some cases, canine influenza can progress to pneumonia.

Ticks have become much more prevalent in our area. With more ticks comes more lyme disease. This is a lifelong condition that can cause lameness, swollen joints, anorexia, weight loss, and affect the kidneys. House soiling, scratching and aggression are the most common behavior problems reported in cats. What begins as an intermittent frustration can increase in frequency or severity to the point that it dramatically affects your relationship with your cat.
