We couldn't save kittens like Jack Sparrow without our amazing donors! Jack Sparrow was rescued from a hoarding situation. We knew immediately that his eye was so damaged it couldn't be saved, so this little one had surgery to remove his eye. Losing that eye didn't slow him down one bit! He recovered beautifully and has his very own furever family now!

Bruno was found abandoned in a home by Bloomington Police in January. They reached out to Last Hope with an urgent plea for help. Bruno was severely emaciated and needed help. One of our foster hero's agreed to help him, we were able to get him into our vet immediately. Bruno was 26 pounds when he came to us, the vet advise his ideal weight for his age, breed and size was 45 pounds. Bruno was placed on a very strict re-feeding plan to minimize additional health risk associated recovery from starvation. Bruno had to be at a health weight before we could even consider neutering him or giving him basic vaccines. The vetting costed to get him health and rehabbed from his drama were steep. Bruno was with us for 9 months before he found his perfect home.

Winnie and Eileen are two kittens that have been through so much. A gentleman witnessed 8 week old Eileen thrown out the window of a moving car and had to swerve to avoid hitting her. He reached out for help and we got her vet care right away. She had such severe nerve damage in her leg that it had to be amputated.

Winnie was found screaming in pain by a farmer when she was 8 weeks old. Her toe had been ripped completely off and was very infected. We got her to the vet to get her little foot cared for.

While at their foster's house these two became best friends. They never would have healed and then found each other had it not been for your generosity!

Ella is a current Last Hope dog requiring lots of medical attention. every donation helps and is tax deductible. We appreciate every donation we get and it enables us to keep saving dogs like Ella.

Ella is a 3 year old Rottweiler that came to us as an emergency case due to a bowel obstruction. In true Rotti fashion she ate something she shouldn’t have and her owners were no able to provider her vetting needs which would have end up in euthanizing her. One of our foster hero’s agreed to take her into her home. Once the bowel obstruction was resolved and further vetting continued, Ella had a wicked ear infection and tested positive for Lyme's disease and having hip/leg pain that requires an orthopedic specialist. She has a long road expensive road before she is cleared for adoption.

It's give to the max day!! Your donations saved the lives of these 3 cuties. Their mama, who was a barn cat, disappeared one day. The farmer was letting the kittens, who were 5 weeks old at the time, starve to death. Three days after the mama disappeared a friend of the farmer's found out what was going on and rescued the kittens. We were able to rush these little ones to the vet and get them the emergency care they needed. They survived because of your generosity!

Who can forget Arlo? Arlo was a dog that was shot in the back and left in a ditch to die. Arlo was not able to walk and needed to get his leg amputated and have extensive physical therapy, Pain management and multiple surgeries. Today Arlo is thriving, he is walking and living his best life. This is what we can do with donations. Give To The Max is a great way to show support to local nonprofits who can continue to help animals like Arlo.

Last Hope got a call in July from a woman living in a mobile home park asking us to take a kitty that had been found taped inside a box on a very hot sunny day. He was dehydrated but otherwise in good condition. No one claimed him so Last Hope took him into the rescue. Rossi has had a multiple of issues including bouts of unexplained vomiting, diarrhea, and lameness in one of his back legs. His tummy issues finally have resolved due a prescription diet but we are now having him seen at the U of M Vet Clinic for further diagnosis of his leg lameness. Surgery will most likely be warranted. His vet bills to this point have been approximately $3,000 with more to come depending on the resolution of his leg issues.

Meet Jasper, who has been waiting and waiting to be adopted! He is high energy, full of fun, and LOVES to play. He's right around a year old. He doesn't mind other cats but his high energy can be annoying to older cats, so he would need a cat friend younger than he is or to be the only cat. He's perfect for the person who wants a cat without the cat wanting to have to be on them all the time. Jasper would do best in a home without small children. We just don't understand it. How have these two little ladies been overlooked all this time?! Winnie and Eileen are two kittens who are the very best of friends. Eileen came to Last Hope after being thrown from a car. Her leg was so badly injured it had to be amputated. Winnie was brought in by a good samaritin who had found her screaming in pain. One of her back toes had been completely torn off! Needing a place to heal from their horrific injuries brought the girls together. They are such sweet and fun girls and are still waiting for their furever home. If you would like to learn more about them, please see our website at Last-hope.org

A good samaritan found this precious little lady under her car Saturday night. She had a fracture on her leg so severe the bone was out. We brought her to the emergency clinic so we could find out if she had sustained other injuries. The fracture is older and infected so her leg will need to be removed. Poor baby had been on her own for who knows how long in excruciating pain. We have you little Samantha. If you are able to help with some of Samantha's vet expenses we would greatly appreciate it.

Meet Dex. This Beautiful boy was found as a stray and never Claimed. Dex is approximately 2 years old. He is good with most dogs, good with older children. He is not good with cats or other small animals, Dex has a prey drive. Dex knows basic commands; sit lay down, and shake. ** Urgent Need** As you may know fosters are in short supply, we desperately need a foster hero.
Lily aka Pickle is a 8 month old pit bull who was abandoned at the Last Hope office and adopted as a puppy. Unfortunately, she has developed some behaviorally concerns that require her to be and only dog now. She is 8 months old, very young and needs training.
We are desperately looking for a home to help this sweet girl that does not have any other dogs. Our goal is to get her into a home and our volunteer trainer can continue to work with her.
Current information from the current owner:She is 65 pounds now. She is very sweet, cuddly, smart & active. She loves playing fetch & tug-a-war. She does well in a leash with a muzzle but it’s hard to get her in walks because of her reactivity. She will need daily exercise & mental stimulation. She gets lick mats daily along with stimulating toys. We are teaching her to sleep in our floor at night and not to be in the furniture. She has started resource guarding her food, toys and even my husband as of last week. She will grawl & snap at strangers who try to pet her. She is NOT a fan of other dogs or cats at this point and loud noises outside frighten her - the fireworks noise didn’t seem to bother her though. She has not had additional shots since she was adopted but we have given her frontline & heart guard since. She is doing really well with training on learning new commands. She rarely has an accident in the house. She will go into her crate when asked but doesn’t sleep in it overnight. She is very treat motivated! It’s just when she gets scared or upset she lashes out. She bit my husbands hand but only while breaking up a fight between my older dog and her. One of my dogs has extremely high anxiety and we suspect that it is causing some of Lily’s negative reactions as she has started to snap at him recently. Please let me know if you have any other questions."
