We have a request from the Potosi pound to help this guy be seen by a vet for his injured leg!

More info to come soon once we are able to have a vet examine him - can you help us out with those fees?? Also, if we can help him get back home (or into a new one) that would be ah-mazing!!

ANOTHER UPDATE: The amazing people who found and cared for Miss Muffin also found her rescue with Smelly Cat Rescue!! She’ll be going home with them today and we’ll be forwarding the $119 raised for her to them. Thank you everyone for your support, and a special thanks to the people who cared enough to save her. ❤️

I have an update on our sweet Muffin. It’s bitter sweet news so prepare for that.

As you know we found out she was shot. Miraculously that did not cause brain damage. That said the act of begin hit did cause some damage. According to the vet this damage could be permanent or it could go away as she heals, it’s a “time will tell” scenario.

She wont eat on her own but will “gobble down” food given to her in a syringe. The vet believes this is temporary and possibly due to the swelling in her brain. She expects this to change but for now little Muffin Cinema Poe has to be fed with a syringe 3-4 times a day. The vet described this as far less difficult than new born kittens.

She is able to walk today but she walks in circles she cannot simply walk from point a to point b. The vet described it as she walks in left and right circles until she is where she wants to go.

The good thing… Muffin loves the attention and is constantly ready to be held and fed.

She will stay at the vets office again tonight but we are hopeful for tomorrow as a go home date. I wanted to message you both so there is no chance of miscommunications as well as to verify you are still okay with taking the little munchkin on as I know this is a bit more care needed than we had hoped for.

Black cats have always been associated with luck and we can’t decide if this girl is incredibly lucky or unlucky.

🐈‍⬛Unluckily, she was hit by a car.

🐈‍⬛Luckily, a witness cared enough to stop and take her to a vet.

🐈‍⬛Unluckily, it was discovered that not only had she been hit by a car, but she’s recently been shot.

🐈‍⬛Luckily, the people who took her to the vet were able to pay the initial deposit for her care AND found someone to hold her while she heals and recovers.

We would like to help cover some of the vet care - the people who are currently holding her have also offered to help get her spayed and vaccinated after she’s healed. We’ll need to find her a forever home after that, so if you know anyone looking for a young kitty to add to their family or a rescue with an open spot, let us know!!

Weber Road Vet Clinic contacted us today - this guy needed emergency surgery to remove spray foam he had eaten 😩

His name is Samson and he was taken in as a stray by a family whose other dog doesn’t get along well with him, so although they’ll keep him while he heals, we also need to find him a safe place to go later on.

His surgery set us back a bit and as you’ve seen from our other posts, there’s a lot of need right now. We know it’s Christmas time, but if you could spare a few bucks, we’d really appreciate it. 🙏🏻

If you’re looking for a cause to support this upcoming , consider your local animal rescue organization. 🐾💖

Poe’s Purpose would of course also appreciate your donations. Our mission is to provide the funds for vet care for homeless animals in St. Francois County, Missouri. It started with animals that came into the local pounds injured or sick, but now most of our funds go to animals in rural areas outside city limits that desperately need vet care, rescue, and maybe most importantly- foster homes.

So if you can’t open your wallet this Tuesday, consider opening your heart and your home - I cannot stress enough how many lives fostering can save. Message us if you have questions about how you can help!

Another tortie stray, but thankfully this one isn’t injured! She’s made her way to the finder’s house and they’ve been feeding her and slowly gaining her trust. They think they can capture her to take her to be spayed and vaccinated - the cost will be approximately $217.

Unfortunately, we can’t currently cover that, but if we can get enough donations, we can get her to the vet before she ends up with kittens in the dead of winter 😩 any help you can spare will be greatly appreciated!

A year ago today, Poe woke us up to let us know something was wrong. We rushed him to the emergency vet and the surgery was successful, but as most of you know, we never got to bring him home. 💔

I will always share this to make people aware. Please share.

UPDATE: Stray Rescue is tagging them - we need transport from Belleview, MO to St. Louis by 5:00pm TODAY. Can anyone help??

⚠️We have an immediate need for a temp foster and donations for vetting ⚠️

These four emaciated puppies were pulled out of the flood waters in iron county. They’re not currently safe where they are - it’s a real area with landowners threatening to shoot them.

If you can help, please let us know.

💞HEADS UP - We need some help!💞

These two cuties are in the Farmington Pound, and although one came in wearing a flea collar, they haven’t been reclaimed. We have placement for them both IF we can get them fully vetted. I’m expecting a bill of about $250 to cover everything.

Can you help??
