Lego ❤️, this Maestro/ Nex pup has had a rough road and I’m so proud of her to get back to form . Miss Lego was a early maturing pup with tons of talent breezing through her HRCH and then got snake bit that totally messed her up , went from stepping on over 200 yard marks to running over the top of a white bumper at 30 yards on a soccer field , jumping at every movement in grass and scared of my every movement like she had been beat . Had serious thoughts on washing her out with her struggling so bad . But I knew she had massive potential if I could just get the old Lego back . She still struggles with fast movements from me while training which makes training a fire breather hard at times lol. We switched over to master this week at Castile Creek, so the last two weeks we worked with live birds which has been a job because everytime

wings would flap in the field it scared her to death . We would finally work through it and think we had it whooped and come back the next day just to start all over . I’m proud of Lego for passing her very first master test that was very challenging. Was super proud of her for running the last water series clean and on the long bird for taking a straight line hitting three pieces of water up two dam banks to step on the bird , a big hell ya on that one 💪. She still has issues from the incident but she has made big strides to make me proud . Circle of life with her grandma being a Castile creek dog which I’m deeply indebted to Lyle for selling her as a pup to me , she changed the way I see dogs . Big shout out to Castile Creek for putting on a great test and feeding us both days , thanks Clark and Lyle I appreciate you both . Appreciate the judges time and all the workers . Awesome grounds and always have been . Great catching up with all my hunt test family and hope you all did well . Big shout out to my brother Chris figgy for passing Rip and Ammo

Todays setup for the big dogs , seasoned dogs I shorten the middle and long mark and moved the blind . Dogs bounced back and had an over all good day .

Miss Bailey owned by Drew Menard entered the test world at Illinois River this weekend with two season passes . We always give credit to where or who it belongs and Bailey was with another trainer to get her started that doesn’t train anymore I believe so Drew brought her to WDR about a month ago and we started working on casting immediately and being a team player . We could tell she had a beast inside her with over the top drive that had a decent start to training so we started training for season to get her ready and the little fire breather held it together to get her two first season passes . We found a few areas that need attention and we can’t wait to see where this girl can go , congrats to Drew , appreciate you bringing her here and letting us roll.

Miss Daisy owned by Kevin Wade Lucas passed her season title a few weeks back at RU on Saturday and passed her first finished test on Sunday . Ran this weekend at Illinois River and made me proud . Saturday on a top tier test she passed her land series and ran out of gas on water. Sunday I filled her bowl with ice and ran fans over them and she came back to get a pass . She needs two more for her HRCH, you can do this Daisy ….

Miss Kate owned by Brock McMahan got her title pass Saturday on a top tier test at Illinois River . We’ve been looking for some consistency for Kate and I was very happy with her weekend run with two passes , new HRCH. Congrats to the Kaylyn McMahan and Brock on there new champion . Appreciate you guys letting me take this ride with her ❤️

Miss Kate owned by Brock McMahan is a home grown pup from Meastro and Nex litter . Kate passed her finished test Saturday with ease which failed a lot of pups . She entered Sundays test with a chance to title but fell short by one mark . She passed water but used up her handle on the third bird which she over ran like most pups that ran that test . She picked up her two outside marks on land but hunted short on the middle bird and worked her way back instead of pushing out and my hands was tied so I couldn’t help her . It was heart breaking for me with it being a title run but we will get it next test . Kate has been training with the grand dogs and doing a great job . Kate is a great pup just needs to be more consistent and that’s coming . ❤️💪

Miss Rice owned by Mike Arenz came to WDR last year for four months and went home to duck hunt but the unseasonably warm weather did her in with getting snake bit while hunting and brought her season to a end . She came back for further training and to compete in test . She has went 4 for 4 in seasoned with earning her HR title this weekend at RU . Rice has always been a good blind runner for the amount of training she’s had and a great marker but struggled with memory. She has really stepped up her game with showing leaps in the memory department and being a team player . She gets a little loose at the line but that’s age and inexperience, we will fix that and keep stretching her out for the next level . Big future for this gal ……❤️💪

This is Daisy owned by Kevin Wade Lucas , she’s a Finn and River pup from the second breeding. Shout out to Chris Akins and Finn , love my Finn pups . Daisy came to WDR later then the rest of her litter for training because Kevin lives so far away and getting time to bring her but she made quick work of her time here . She was here for eight months and was one test shy from her seasoned title because we ran out of test and she went home for three months and we just got her back three weeks ago and I entered her in seasoned at RU because I knew she would smack it she was running finished level when she went home but three months off is a long time for a young pup . Saturday she titled HR so I moved her to finished Sunday with nothing to loose . She was the only dog running finished on my trailer that picked up all her water marks clean Sunday moving on to land . On land they had first bird on the left at about 50 yards , second bird was in the middle up a hill not sure distance maybe 120 , right bird was a pinch mark coming toward the line to the middle bird across a ditch at about 80 yards . She picked up both outside birds but broke down with confusion on the middle bird so we used our handle which she did well , then ran a nice blind that many of dogs struggled on . To say I was proud is an understatement, she was a little rocky on the honor but held . Heck ya , love it . Thank you Kevin for letting me run thus girl , she makes my kennel and bloodline proud . ❤️

Concept training again at Kyle Smith place . Under the ark blinds , no off marks run blind then pick up mark . Then a long stretch them out mark . Great training day , young dogs got some some single marks with two blinds . Great way to end the week , thanks Kyle for letting WDR use the place .

Great teaching day , 90 percent lunging water ! Dogs definitely needed this , refresher course for some and teaching for others but a training you walk away from that you feel you accomplished something. Thanks to Sims Mountain Kennels we appreciate it ……

Miss Kate owned by Brock McMahan is two passes away from her HRCH. Kate had a good showing at Kentucky . Saturday she passed a very hard but fair land test with a behind the hide key hole blind , moved to water and picked up go bird , sent to second bird and she marked it well but she was the last dog to run and it sunk in a swampy area but was only in about a foot of water . She hunted the area hard but couldn’t come up with it so I handled her to help . She was so worked up that she took my first several cast but went right over the bird until she decided I was wrong and decided to find it on her own which she did quickly at that point . Third bird she did well on and ran a good blind . Judges failed her so on to Sunday which she ran a great test with a pass . Really proud of this pup with the progress she’s made . Mr. Doc owned by Noah Bellew took the trip with WDR to West Kentucky to finish his title up in seasoned , needed two passes and he got it a HR title . Noah brought Doc before season to WDR for a few days for me to get use to him and make sure he was ready to run and he nailed with two passes. He went home and retrieved a ton of ducks and geese and came back a week before the test to make sure he was ready and to get on the same page . Training credit goes to Noah . Doc is a great pup with lots of go and tons of potential . I appreciate the trust in running Doc , thank you …..

Miss Rice is a little unsure of getting her pic took but deserves the recognition. Rice is owned by Mike Arenz and came to WDR at 5 months old and trained for 4 months before going home to duck hunt in Arkansas. She got snake bit while duck hunting and her season came to an end quickly . She came back to WDR with a few issues probably from the snake bite and being off but quickly worked her way back into shape and is making me proud . She made her first step into the hunt test world this weekend at west Kentucky and did not disappoint. Her marking is on point , being a team player with her blinds , walk ups and diversions was great , she got a little loose at the line but we will address that this week. Passed both days and needs two more to title . Congrats to Mike and Rice , I’m very proud and happy to be a part of it , thanks I appreciate it ❤️

In no particular order I like to give individual attention to my babies here at WDR . This is Honey owned by Logan and Kennedy , she’s a year old golden that is just getting started here at WDR with her title run . She titled HR this weekend and has big goals that she can reach . She loves her job and makes quick work of it . I’ve been impressed with this pup from day one and she has givin me respect for her breed and she’s a looker to boot ! Congrats to dad and mom and honey , I’m proud and love her

Foundation of WDR , River . This girl would watch the Skys all day everyday, birds or not . Easy trainer, early maturity, team player with all natural traits and desire. You could set her out for her to see without worrying about her breaking . River is about 13 now and still going strong !❤️❤️❤️
