We have had a very busy couple of months and not slowing down in the midst of summer. A few pics of some of our new friends who have graduated from board and trains, in private training, and some currently boarding and training. Board and trains are booked solid through mid August, but we do have a handful of space for private trainings in your home.

It’s with a very heavy heart that I have to post this. Aspen ended up in emergency surgery today and unfortunately none of her pups made it. She didn’t labor well on her own and pups were in distress. Couldn’t get her seen in time. She’s home and resting. I’m on the fence whether I will continue with my breeding program and what I’ve always wanted to do as of now, but Aspen is now retired.

Murphy and Bailey both graduated Thursday and today. These 2 came a very long way in 4 weeks and I’m so proud of them. They will be missed around here!

I’m so proud of Bailey and how far she has come. We’ve put in a lot of time desensitizing her to noises of all kinds. While she still gets overstimulated, which you can see by the panting and occasional shake off she does, she doesn’t shut down and is eager to keep moving. 3 weeks ago this girl dragged me across my yard and scurried in the house at any little noise. The improvement she’s made has amazed me! One week to go to perfect her skills.

Murphy and I made it into Home Depot today! He has come such a long way with his leash reactivity! He would bark and lunge at people whenever he was out, now he’s finally getting it. We’ve been working with the e collar and the prong for a solid combo. This dog has been so fun to work with and can’t believe he goes home soon.

Nelly paid a visit to Mission Pet Supplies & Country Store yesterday to work on her excitement levels when she sees new dogs and people. She did such a good job learning to “leave it” and just keep walking.

These two have been so much fun to work with so far. Both of them coming to me with anxiety/fear/aggression issues. We’ve been working on building their confidence up so we can enjoy going out and about.

These two are really working hard on being better on leash and around distractions. Both came to me major pullers and reactive. They have a long way to go still, but they are getting better by the day.

YES YES IT IS!

Let’s talk the importance of crate training and your dog being comfortable in a crate.

First and foremost, dogs are natural den dwellers, so having a crate as their cozy safe space is important.

It also helps, YOU, the owner with potty training. Dogs don’t like to soil where they sleep.

Not being crate trained, can lead to separation and anxiety issues, among other behavior issues, because your dog is never taught to have some alone time.

My biggest reason for telling ALL of my clients their dogs NEED to be comfortable and happy in their crates, IF there is ever an emergency with a member of your family and emergency personnel have to enter your home, you should feel confident in putting your dog in a safe space out of the way.

I’m coming across a lot of dogs lately who are not crate trained and I can’t believe how crazy they become being put in one. As a trainer, I cannot express enough, how very important it is that your K9 companion feel 100% safe and confident being in a crate from time to time.
