It’s the most beautiful time of the year 🎄❤️. Reflecting on our blessing of this time, last year. #trailsendairedales #dogtok #farmdog #terriersofinstagram #farmlife #workingdogs #airedaleterrier #farmdoglife #ilovemydogs #packlife
Another side of our hearts 💕
When managing a pack you have to take into account everyone’s personalities/level of training/health/etc. into account in all situations. From their individual daily environment to the training tools. At first it can be a struggle. But it becomes second nature. I say that to explain this videos context. I think in this video I was just trying to get some training footage of Omen. Aldi unexpectedly, tried me for a quick second and then she follows her cue. And then there’s Bear! Here is Bear’s extensive expectations and he meets them gloriously. He is really in retirement heaven. Here’s to the lost souls 🖤! #workingairedale #airedaleterrier #airedale #beartheairedale #trailsendairedales #dogtraining #workingdogs #feraldogrehabilitation #feraldog
Trail’s End Setting Fire to the Rain… aka Adele
We are super proud of this gyp. She is coming along nicely and her owner/handler, @helix_ziva_v._den_briarwoods, has put in the WORK. She runs patrol on the home and work property, hunts squirrel, coon, rabbit, runs the mountain, follows the baby, does bikejoring, she has done fun runs and she gets along well with her pack mates. All and in she is a solid dog with so much to offer. Her favorite job is child protection and child escort. @helix_ziva_v._den_briarwoods is a great handler.

Can you believe this is Bear? And he’s running and genuinely enjoying himself? He’s come SO far in 6 months. He sure loves his kids. #airedaleterrier #rescueairedale #feraldogrehab
It’s easy to “forget” your successes when you’re always focused on how you can do better. So today, I’m being conscious of that and recognizing the amazing recall we have on all 3 six month old puppies. This video shows Fate. But they are all excelling. Training is never stagnant and we can always do more. With that said, I’m incredibly proud of my husband and I for the training we’ve put in these pups while still training/running 4 adult Airedales and 1 patterdale/fiest cross. And raising a family, working full time, farming and health battles. I came across this video and the more I thought about, the more I noticed… Just before the coyotes started, the barn cats came flying up to the house at super speed. After this video was taken the cats went back out to hunt (I’m not sure if that’s confidence in the pack or foolery). Play this video with the sound up to hear our males warning the coyotes, in the most confident way. The coyotes were not enough threat for them to even get up. I like my males to be steady, and these 3 are doing it. For perspective, we have not had a single loss of barn cat/chicken/duck/or livestock animal. Our horse is 27 (ish) and his companion is a 32 yr old tiny Shetland. They sleep surrounded by the dogs. They have free rein and could sleep anyway, but they’ve recognized the safety of the dogs. The cats have recognized the fine line of staying inside the dogs protection while also giving them space. Interspecies communication and relationships are so fascinating to me. There are few things we love more than a confident dog. Let your seasoned dogs train your pups, they learn from being outside working in a way they never would inside. ***If you keep dogs outside, be ethical, don’t be part of the problem. #farmguard #farmguardians #homedefensedog #workingdog #guarddog #huntingdog #puppytraining
Omen, he’s about 12 weeks of age. He is getting speedy on his recall. I’m quite proud of this pup. He is the pup who had his tail amputated, he has not let it get him down. We’re unsure if he will ever be able to wag his tail, the break may have caused nerve damage. He has not lost any mobility, he does not seem to be in pain, and he retained all bowel function. Hopefully he will start to move his tail again, but if not, he communicates and moves exceptionally well as is ❤️🩹.

The tiniest dog trainer ♥️. This little lady, is 4 years old and she can walk our adult dogs. Her eagerness to work with puppies makes me so happy! Her calm demeanor with the puppies is a testament to all the work we’ve put in with our children and to our dog’s temperament. They’re raised with children and it shows. Fate had an hour of farm time this morning which equals a couple miles (probably more) of physical exercise. Farm time also allows them to learn from their elders and exercise their brains. It is a lot of work, but working toward dreams is always work. Here’s to the next generation generation of working dogs and their handlers. #dogtraining #puppytraining #raisingpuppies #airedalesofinstgram #workingairedales #workingdogs #airedales #airedalecommunity
10 weeks, first exposure to traffic, 3rd exposure to the leash, day 2 of healing after tail amputation, and first day learning commands in a different environment… I get goosebumps every time…
It was also very freaking cold and I had strep throat 😂 so my handling was not pristine

This is from Friday. This was Omen’s first real trip off the farm, other than going to the vet. It was his first time seeing pavement, sidewalks, and traffic. He unfortunately broke his tail and had to have it amputated last week. He is healing nicely. I love the movement and confidence in him!
He will be staying on the farm and will be a full time working dog.

It has been 10 to 20° (degrees F°) below 0°with brutal winds. Everyone is doing amazing and proving strong genetics, great husbandry, and early stimulation all contribute to incredibly resilient puppies. It was 14°F during today’s shenanigans and you would have thought it was a balmy 70°. I can’t wait to elaborate more in the future.
The humans are cold and tired and could use a break though 😂🥶.
