What's been happening on the farm? Well it's spring time and lots of babies.
Had the last of my spinal surgeries on 4/15. Praise God for that.

Copied from Sweet Magnolia Rabbitry.
Alrighty guys! So I’ve been hit with the “ why are angoras so much more than other rabbits “ questions a lot here lately. So just wanted to add a little bit of info on these bunnies.

The reason for the “higher” prices of rabbits known as English Angoras

* Higher Quality rabbits, due to wool fibers, that can be sold.
* To ensure people understand they aren’t just a cheap rabbit that doesn’t require extra care.
* Require regular grooming.
* Require monthly treatments to prevent wool mites and other parasites.
* Can easily be potty and house trained.

They require extra work ; grooming, brushing, blowing out.
If you can’t afford the cost of the Angora, you can’t afford the extras they require. They can’t just be thrown in a cage. They have to have space & lots of time.

Reasons why to have an angora ;
* let’s start off with fluffiness! The fluffiness’s makes them undeniably cute! They’re super soft!
* Docile nature ; while they are a lot of work needing daily grooming & affection to keep their wool in great condition. They’re pretty good with appreciating & tolerating this much handling.
* While they may look like huge rabbits, underneath all that fur is a tiny little bun not too much bigger than a Guinea pig.
* Profit ; angoras can be profited off of as long as you keep their wool in tip top shape. You can harvest their wool for many projects! A lot of people use their wool for yarn how crazy is that!

With that being said ; raising rabbits isn’t cheap. Us breeders put a lot of work, a lot of time & a lot of money & pride into what we raise to produce good quality rabbits for you guys to purchase. We have to give them a good quality feed, shave them, hay, make sure they have clean fresh water daily, checking for mites, check their bodies to make sure it’s the way it should be, treatments for any illness ( medications aren’t cheap & neither are the needles for injection meds ), make sure they’re loving & handle them daily so they are use to being held which caused many many of scratches. Etc. the list can go on.
In other words we’re not “ over pricing “ the prices we give are made to ensure the rabbit can & will be well taken care of. We take pride in these animals. Any questions just message me I’ll be more than happy to answer any that you have to the best of my ability.
