15.4 pound cantaloupe that Marvin and Allen Rogers teamed up on to grow!!

The garden is a big part of Earl Vet Supply biz. IYKYK! Grandpa is very serious about it! Tragically Allen is so much taller than Grandpa you need to click on the photo to see him! 😆

I told Grandpa his kitty was gone. He thought it was my cat at home. I had waited to bury the cat until he came back. So he could see it and pet it one more time. He has all his wits about him. He just didn't comprehend. When I brought him the kitty in the box he understood. That was a hard moment.. My 2 daughters came with me to work today. They were able to say goodbye right after he got hit. Thankfully he looked good. He was warm and felt like he always did.. When I laid him in the box his body still felt like he was alive. The girls watched me carry him accross the highway and came to the side of the drive to face it with me. I'm glad they were there and I didn't have to do it alone. I'm glad they were there to say goodbye. We said a prayer over him thanking the Lord for the onery wonderful pet that he was. They laid a beautiful bouquet of tiger lilies on his grave.

Before we buried him I presented my Grandpa Marvin with a box of Elephant Ear bulbs. He said "Praise the Lord". I said I would plant them on the grave. He said OK. So when we see it we will see the Elephant ears and we will see something good on the grave.

My only regret and advice for the future is to arrange the body in the grave before the mourners arrive. He wasn't as pretty after 3 hours in the box as we was when he first got hit. I just wish I would have told the girls not to watch that part. Lessons learned. I did the best I could.

With sad hearts I wanted to let everyone know that our Vet Supply Kitty was hit and killed on the road today. I bottle fed him 5 years ago. He had a great and fun personality. He caught several mice just this week.

You will be missed Blackie.
