We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team at Fayette County Humane Society. Before you apply, we want to be transparent about what this job truly entails. This role is not for the faint of heart, and it’s certainly not just about playing with puppies and kittens every day.

This job is grueling, demanding, and requires immense physical and mental strength. You will witness some of the worst cases of abuse and neglect that will challenge you emotionally. You will handle dogs that have lost all trust in humans. There will be days when you cry and question why you took this job.

But at the end of the day, you do it for the animals. There are moments of joy when your favorite animal gets adopted or when you help an animal in need. These moments make all the hard work worthwhile.

🌟 Meet Our Staff Members: Animal Control Edition 🌟

As we step into the new year, we’re excited to continue our “Meet Our Staff Members” series. This week, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible team, Fayette County Animal Control. Although they aren’t directly employed by us, we see their smiling faces every day, and they’ve truly become part of our family.

Jamison started his journey with us at Fayette County Humane Society and quickly rose to become an outstanding Animal Control Officer. His dedication and passion for animal welfare are evident in everything he does.

Billy is one of the newest members of the Animal Control team. Despite being new, he has already shown immense commitment and compassion in his role.

Our Animal Control Officers work tirelessly with the community to ensure the animals of Fayette County are well cared for. They rescue abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, providing them with the love and care they deserve.

Their jobs are tough and mentally grueling, but their unwavering mission to protect the animals of Fayette County is always at the forefront of their efforts.

We want to extend a huge thank you to our Animal Control Officers for dedicating their lives to helping the helpless animals in our county. Your hard work and compassion do not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

🐾 New Beginnings for 4 Dogs and 5 Puppies! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that 4 dogs and 5 adorable puppies are on their way to a new start at life! 🐶❤️

A huge thank you to our incredible new rescue partner for stepping in and giving these precious animals a second chance. Without the unwavering support of our rescue partners, we wouldn’t be able to save so many lives here in Fayette County.

Important Announcement: Shelter Closure Due to Inclement Weather

Due to the severe weather conditions, the Fayette County Humane Society will be closed to the public tomorrow. Please rest assured that our dedicated staff will be spending the night at the shelter to ensure all our animals are safe and well-cared for.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff and board members who are going above and beyond for our animals during this time. Your commitment and compassion are truly inspiring.

Position: Kennel Technician
Starting Pay: $12.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for our dogs and cats
Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas
Assist with medical treatments and grooming
Monitor the health and behavior of animals
Support adoption events and other shelter activities

Requirements:
A love for animals and a commitment to their well-being
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A valid driver’s license is recommended
