Have we ever mentioned how much fun our Kitchen Table Dinner Series is? Not only do you get to try a multi-course meal by a local chef, but you also get to watch and chat with them while they prepare the meal! Plus, you are invited to stroll around the farm, drink in hand, while you meet your new future friends. The idea of a Kitchen Table Dinner is replicating the warmth and excitement you feel when gathering together in a friend's kitchen. Come by yourself or bring someone special, and don't worry about dietary restrictions -- we can handle anything! Tickets are sold out for our July Dinner, but our August one is just two weeks after, and you won't want to miss it.
We're still thinking about the February Kitchen Table Dinner with Chef Bernie Martinez of The Blackberry Brasserie.
Did you know you can host your private event at Apple Seeds in Fayetteville? Create your own Kitchen Table Dinner experience for your birthday dinner, company party, bridal shower, wedding...the list goes on! We have a variety of options, so reach out and let's plan your next event!
🌮🌮🌮 Who doesn't love tacos?!?🌮🌮🌮
When the growing season slows down, Apple Seeds goes into the schools! Here's a program we did with 5th graders at Walker Elementary School. At the end, every student got the produce needed to make their own summer squash tacos at home for their families. The program also included nutrition information about whole grains and how whole grains differ from refined grains.
We love seeing the next generation learn about and make healthy choices!
At home with the kids today? Need a quick activity or a neighbor gift? Cucumber Quick Pickles check all the boxes: easy, quick, nutritious, kid-approved, and most of all, really fun to make!
Thanks for your help, Washington Elementary!
We're still thinking about our Wild Table Dinner from last week! In a season of gathering with those special to you, we're so glad people choose to gather at Apple Seeds.
If you'd like your own version of a Kitchen Table Dinner, we're booking events for 2024! You can hold special dinners, happy hours, weddings, or just gather with friends! It's a hassle-free experience with wonderful food, and it all goes towards supporting a good cause. Check out our website for more information.
Why we do what we do! 🥬It's another fun day of cooking in the schools with 5th grade friends. Not only do the students get to make a nutritious recipe (summer squash tacos!), but they take home all the produce they need to make the recipe at home, too! We're doing what we can to educate kids about healthy futures while making sure they have to access to make those healthy choices, too!
Our website has a new feature! Now under our recipes tab, you can search our recipes by ingredient! Do you have a bunch of seasonal produce and you're not sure what to do with it? Try our website! Have you received produce and a recipe from Apple Seeds that wasn't quite your cup of tea? Now you can find another way to use the produce! Are you looking for recipes to get your kid involved in the kitchen? We've got you covered!
These recipes are chef and kid approved! Just ask the recent group of third grades who couldn't stop shouting, "we want more! We want more!" after making the summer squash tacos!

A first grader recently attended a program at our farm. He took a sip of Groovy Green Smoothie, which has spinach, kale, mint, zucchini, banana, and mango in it, and began showing his excitement in a major way. The teacher expressed her excitement, too. It turned out this student was in food therapy, and the fact he drank this smoothie on his own was a major deal, and the fact that he liked it was enough to send everyone over the moon!
Your financial support helps make these stories happen.
We are trying to raise $5,000, which will provide programming to 138 students next spring. It will allow students to consume fresh vegetables, learn life-long nutrition education, and put produce into the hands of food-insecure families.
We're asking people to support our mission through donating $50 during #GivingTuesday and spreading our message through sharing this newsletter and our social media posts with your friends.
We're not trying to be dramatic about how good the Roasted Roots recipe is...but some fourth graders have said they want to live at Apple Seeds, it's so delicious. But don't take our word for it...take the 4th graders from Washington Elementary's word! 🥕🍠
Apple Seeds will see around 1,250 students at the farm in Fayetteville and Little Rock in October! Here's a brief glimpse at a recent first grade field trip with Bonnie GrimesElementarySchool.
🍂🌱 Fall is almost here, but we're still reminiscing about the sunny days of summer! ☀️🌾 While we prepare for our Fall field trip students and their exciting garden-based adventures, let's take a trip down memory lane to this epic okra harvest led by our incredible Senior Program Manager, Becky! 🌽🙌
Our team's passion for nurturing young minds in nutrition and cooking education is what makes the Farm so special. 🍳🌽 We can't wait to have all our little friends back on the farm soon! 👩🌾👨🌾 #GardenEducation #NutritionEducation #GardenExplorers
👨🌾 Volunteers are crucial to our success at Apple Seeds. Every Thursday, we have individuals from across the community harvesting and packing bags of fresh produce for our neighbors affected by food insecurity. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please reach out to [email protected]. #northwestarkansas #volunteer #volunteernwa #growingfood #foodinsecurityawareness #harvest #gardening #seedtotable
You heard it here first 🗣 Our Fiesta Dip is loved by all, but we think it tastes even better when you have a hand in making it.
🧑🍳 Research shows that cooking with children and vegetable/fruit tastings significantly improve their food preferences and attitudes toward healthy foods - which are factors important to healthful eating and obesity prevention.
🍎 At Apple Seeds, we excite our students through food exploration and experimentation.
What new fruit or veggie have you tried recently?

Purchase your tickets for our SUNday at the farm event this coming Sunday, September 11th from 5-7pm and you’ll not only be in for an afternoon of music, small bites, sips and yard games, you’ll be helping us reach our fundraising goal!
If you can’t make it, consider sponsoring a “cell” that will so generously be matched 2:1 by our friends and supporters, Ben and Amber Pinter! You can do so by heading to www.appleseedsnwa.org/events/sundayatthefarm and select “sponsor a cell” in the drop down menu!
