Friends of Cumberland County AnimalS

The mission of the FOCCAS is to work in conjunction with CCAC to promote animal welfare initiatives. This is an open intake, county shelter.

This page is managed and maintained by volunteers supporting the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, the animals under the shelter's care and the community the shelter serves. IT IS NOT ADMINISTERED, MANAGED OR AFFILIATED WITH CUMBERLAND COUNTY GOVERNMENT OR THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER. Animals WILL BE EUTHANIZED for space when the shelter is full, as it is every week. DO NOT wait if you ar

e interested in any animal listed. Page Policies:

- Rude comments, personal attacks on shelter staff, volunteers, county officials, page admins, former owners or anyone else WILL NOT be tolerated. Admins will ban people who do not follow this policy.

- Comments found to be threatening, hurtful or offensive in nature will be removed and the commenter may be banned.

- We give you permission to share our animals and pictures - PLEASE DO! However, please leave contact information attached to the picture so that, four shares later, someone wanting to help or adopt one of our animals has the correct information.

- We cannot place a hold on animals through this page. YOU MUST CONTACT THE SHELTER DIRECTLY at 910-321-6852.

- Animals should not be considered safe until word comes from this page that the animal has left the shelter.

- All animals have only a 72 hour required hold and with the volume entering the shelter each animal should be considered extremely urgent.

- Speak kindly... there are puppies present.

Jasmine greets you right at the front of her kennel door ready for any and all the attention you are willing to give her. She is a sweet girl who leans into your legs for your pets. She is affectionate and gives doggy kisses as her way of saying thank you for showing her love.
She has good manners and wants to please. Jasmine is looking forward to having a home and a family. Our shelter is full can you help her out?

* 2 year old Coonhound

* he is not neutered but he will be
* found as a stray with another hound who we named "Pearl"
* he is housebroken
* greets with tail wags and smiles
* calm/quiet in and out of kennel
* gentle treat taker
* curious explorer, followed his nose
* smart, knows the sit command
* attentive, eager to please
* good leash manners with no pulling
* good boy, happy, friendly, social

Davis is a super sweet hound dog. He is very people friendly and enjoys your company. He does love to sniff and explore but he also likes to be near his human friends. He is a big fan of treats and endless back scratches. Hounds make great family pets with their sweet nature. Surely you have room in your life for Davis. Please come meet him, our shelter is full. A few things about Pearl...

* friendly and greets you with a few barks and nonstop tail wags
* very sweet, loves attention
* curious explorer, she left no "sniffs" behind in true hound dog fashion
* smart, knows sit, eager to please
* good leash manners with no pulling
* friendly, sweet, social and loving
* appears to be housebroken

Pearl is full of smiles and tail wags. She is your typical hound dog with an extra side of sweetness. She loves back scratches and her soft ears are perfect for rubbing. * 10 month old Pit Bull

* not a fan of cats
* friendly and greets you with tail wags
* very sweet and happy
* gentle, loving, eager to please
* good leash manners
* knows sit and takes treats gently

Wrenn is a happy girl who greets you with endless tail wags. She likes everyone and is eager to be friends. She loves a good treat and will catch them if you toss them to her.
Wrenn is looking forward to good times with a new family of her own. Our shelter is full and she needs a home quickly!

BEAR (A410337)

A few things about Bear…

* 1 year old black Mouth Cur mix
* weighs 57 pounds
* neutered
* heartworm negative
* he was found abandoned
* friendly, greets with tail wags at his door
* easy to leash and walks gently on the leash
* treat motivated, a gentle treat taker
* curious outside but always stayed near me
* smart - knows sit, stay and "wait for it"
* appears to be housebroken
* big fan of back scratches and pets - he leans in close for them
* good manners, attentive, wants to please
* calm and quiet in and out of kennel

Bear is a super handsome boy. He is happy and friendly. He's been down on his luck lately but he hasn't let it get him down. He has high hopes for a family to come along and find him simply irresistible. Surely you need sweet Bear in your life. CHUCKIE (A420349)

Here's a few things about Chuckie …

* 8 month old German Shepherd mix.
* he came in as a stray at 6 months of age with a broken femur. The vet took care of it and he has now healed and gets around just fine.
* weighs 31 pounds
* not yet neutered but he will be
* heartworm test is currently pending
* kid friendly
* loves visitors and is happy to see you
* good manners and is quiet and well behaved in and out of his kennel
* happy, friendly, lovable, playful
* crawls into your lap for belly rubs and endless back scratches.
* smart pup - he has mastered his perfect sit and knows the stay command
* gentle treat taker

Chuckie is a good pup who has been through a lot in his young life. He arrived at our shelter a few months ago with a broken femur. He received treatment by the vet and was with a foster until it healed. He is now ready for new beginnings and happy endings.
Chuckie would like to be a part of your family and to be a loved and cherished furry family member. He is a great pup and would like to have a new home quickly!

So many wonderful 🐕 who’d ❤️ a furever 🏠. ADOPT, RESCUE, SHARE!! Cumberland County Animal Services, Fayetteville, NC. M-F, 11-5:30 and Saturday, 1-5. We’re open until 5:30 today - July 3. We’re closed July 4-6, but reopen @ 11 am on July 7.

This beautiful girl is Lily. She greeted me with a friendly face and tail wags. She was ready to make friends and immediately showed off her sweet personality! She has good manners, walks well on leash and stayed close by my side at all times. She is smart and knows the sit and stay commands. She sat for treats and took them ever so carefully from my hand.

Zeus is an all around good boy. He has yet to meet a stranger. He's full of tail wags and BIG smiles for everyone. He immediately shows off his sweet personality and he wants to be your friend. He's a treat connoisseur and he knows a good treat! Surely you need Zeus in your life! Our shelter is full. please come adopt!

A few things about Ryder...

* 1-year-old Lab/German Shepherd mix
* weighs 50 pounds
* heartworm positive but this is treatable and is not contagious
* he was found as a stray
* he isn't neutered yet but he will be
* friendly boy, greets visitors with tail wags
* easy to leash and walks well on leash
* appears to be housebroken
* well mannered - quiet and calm in and out of the kennel
* very attentive to his surroundings; he was fascinated by our resident pig, he didn't bark at all and was just curious

Ryder is a good boy who loves to snuggle up close to you for back scratches and ear scrubs. He has beautiful pointy ears and the cutest little doggy grin. He will quickly charm his way into your heart. He would like a family to share his life and love with.
