The clinic is closed every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 12:30-2pm for a clinic-wide staff meeting. Dr. Wright joined the practice about 3 months later.

Wedington Animal Hospital was established as North College Animal Hospital in February of 1993. It was just Dr. Herring and one other staff member for the first couple of months. In July of 2002 the clinic was moved to its current location at 4363 W Wedington Drive. Within a year they began looking for more associates. Currently the clinic is home to 8 full time Veterinarians, and approximately 48 additional staff members all dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pets.

Today, we celebrate Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a time to remember and honor the lives of those we have loved & lost—including our beloved pets. 🐾🧡 In Mexican culture, dogs — especially the ancient Xoloitzcuintli [show-loh-eets-KWEENT-lee] (or Xolos) — are believed to guide the souls of the departed to the spirit world, embodying loyalty & companionship that extends beyond life. 🐕🩷

Happy Howl-oween from all of us here at WAH! 🐾🎃👻

Halloween is a spooky good time, but did you know it can come with some hidden tricks and treats for our pets? 🐕🐈‍⬛ Here are a few tips to keep them safe and healthy on this spook-tacular holiday:

🦇 Chocolate, candy, & especially sugar-free treats with xylitol are toxic to pets. ❌ Be sure to stash your trick-or-treat goodies somewhere pets can’t reach! 🍫🍬

🦇 Dressing up your pet? Make sure their costume is lightweight & doesn’t restrict movement, vision, or breathing. Pets can be stylish *and* comfy!! (Bonus points if you bring them to their appointment in their cute lil costumes 😸👑🎩👒)

🦇 Candles, fake cobwebs, & small decorations can pose a hazard if chewed on or knocked over. Keep an eye on pets around decorations! 🕸️🕯️

🦇 Trick-or-treaters at the door can stress some pets. Consider keeping them in a quiet room with their favorite toy to avoid any fright-night anxiety. 👺🫣
