🐾Did you know that preparing a cat or dog for adoption costs more than our adoption fees can cover? Spaying/neutering alone can range from $55–$95 for cats and $110–$210 for dogs. Add in vaccines, microchips, deworming, heartworm tests (and treatment if needed, which can be $700+!), and it’s clear that we rely on generous support to keep going.

Raising adoption fees isn't an option—we want to keep finding homes for as many pets as possible. That's why we’re reaching out to YOU, our incredible community. Your donation can help bridge the gap and make sure every cat and dog gets the care they need before finding their forever home. 💕

Even $20 can make a big impact! If you can, please donate today and be a hero for an animal in need. 🙏

Today we'd also like to extend a thank you to our US Military Working Animal Veterans! This week is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week! Here is a short list of several of our local animal shelter and rescues, however definitely doesn't name all our our Pawsome animal advocates locally. Ways to celebrate this week include, adopting a new fur baby, volunteering, donating, and sharing adoptable animals on your social media. If we work together, we can help all the babies find their furever homes!

It's National Business Women's Week 2024! We will feature a local business woman each day this week. Today we are featuring Debbie Waitley, owner of "Homes in Motion Realty" Read her bio below! Thank you for all you do!

I was raised on a to***co farm in Eastern NC. Attending NCSU, I got my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After years of working in the swine production industry, I transitioned into HR, earning my Master's certificate in Training and Development and then PHR in HR.
Upon deciding to leave the corporate world behind, I got my real estate license. As soon as I completed the requisite 2 years under a Broker in Charge, I started Homes in Motion Realty with a fellow agent, Stefanie Baber. I love owning my own business and being an independent contractor. I love my clients and helping them find the right home or assisting them in the sale of their home.
In my spare time, I love gardening and working in the yard. I love growing what we eat and learning ways to preserve food.
My husband and I live on 12 acres with our 2 dogs, a cat and 5 chickens. We spend as much time as possible with our children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
I am a strong advocate for Alzheimer's research and currently participate in a study with Duke. I have a great life and I am very grateful for it.
