Route 50 Veterinary Care is a mixed pet animal and equine practice based out of Fayetteville, Ohio. We provide daily appointments at our brick and mortar office, located next to Skyline Chili in Fayetteville. We also provide an ambulatory service to select areas of Adams, Brown, Clermont, Hamilton, and Highland counties, and areas of Northern Kentucky. Dr's Brittany Erbe (Burroughs) and Amanda O'

The office will be CLOSED today due to inclement weather. Many of our staff members and clients have a long commute. The roads are not great, and the snow is expected to continue through the day. For the safety of all, we will not be open today.

⛄️ ❄️ OFFICE CLOSURE ❄️ ⛄️

Due to the inclement weather expected overnight, the Route 50 office will open at NOON tomorrow instead of 9am. This will give road crews time to clear the snow that is expected overnight, as many of our clients and staff drive from a distance (and will give Dr Erbe and kids time to accomodate Lynchburg Clay and Fayetteville’s snow days!)

You asked, and we listened! We know that it is often hard to get in to see the vet during business hours. Beginning Jan 1st, we will extend our hours three nights per week, and offer limited Saturday appointments to help make it easier! We will be closed on Tuesdays to allow our staff to have some downtime with their families.
Extended hours and Saturdays are still by appointment, so give us a call to get your pet scheduled!

What is that little wiggle worm 🪱? If you guessed a heartworm, you would be correct! Specifically, this is microfilaria, or an immature heart worm. We have unfortunately seen these little guys twice in one day, which is more than we usually see on a routine day. These may be small now, but in a few months, they will grow and migrate from your dogs small vessels into the large vessels in the heart up to 14 inches in length! They can do major damage to the heart and can be deadly if not treated. The good news is heartworm disease is preventable with monthly prevention, which kills off the microfilaria picked up from infected mosquitos before they grow and migrate to the larger vessels. It's important to have your pet heartworm tested prior to starting prevention. We currently carry a few different options, including: - Interceptor Plus - Nexgard Plus - ProHeart 12 If your dog is not on monthly prevention, now is a great time to have them tested and started on prevention! Microfilaria is fun to see, but we don't want to find it in your pet! 🫀🪱

Dr.’s Mark and Brittany Burroughs are mixed animal veterinarians who serves the eastern Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. The practice focuses on high quality equine and small animal medicine, and special interests include reproduction and lameness, and chiropractic medicine. Burroughs Veterinary Services also offers emergency care for your horses and some livestock. The doctors offer both ambulatory service (farm calls) and haul-ins by appointment, as well as small animal appointments on the farm, at home, or at the office. The clinic driveway is large, and will accommodate any sized horse or livestock trailer. If you would like to schedule a haul-in or an appointment, please call the clinic for availability.
