I am simply so excited, one of my absolute favorite pods Troglodillo Sunset finally released their hostages and we have babies!
I got so lucky in that this mom mustā€™ve just had her mancae not too long ago, they are still pure white and she was doing such a good job of protecting them in this nook of wood.

Upon finding that amazing sight, it turns out another mother released her hostages a short time ago and we have some older babies as well!
Iā€™m so happy to see them so settled in to be reproducing, and I will definitely be introducing some other lines to keep them going strong šŸ–¤

So many of our pods are happily giving us joy by surprising us with babies, so Iā€™m hoping within a few months we can do a soft open and offer a few species for you! I want the colonies to be strong enough before I even think about stressing them out with sorting for shipping, and we will be doing a test shipment first to make sure theyā€™re packaged safely or see what will need improved.

So itā€™s been a while since we posted since Iā€™ve been swamped with work, but we have Spiky Pineapple babies! These are definitely not new mancae, but adorable all the same and are still working on getting their ā€œspikesā€!
I canā€™t wait to get our reptile/isopod room finished so I can truly update and refresh bins! šŸ–¤

We also found some ā€œoddballsā€ or brighter colors than the others and I adore them!
So many gravid females as well!

Donā€™t be an idiot like me and do this on the floor at almost 12am if you have back issues like I do šŸ˜‚ At lead do it somewhere comfy! But Iā€™ll be here for the next 2 hours sorting through dirt so I can get these guys into an upgraded bin!

I am so excited! Our Sinodillo sp. Vietnamā€™s have blessed us with babies for the second time! And Iā€™m also extra excited as one of the momā€™s is one of our project females. We just gotta see if the other one has mancae anytime soon or we can assume male! I canā€™t wait to see how these little beans grow, these gals were being such good moms. One even brought her little ones some moss to eat later on šŸ–¤

Hey all! Welcome to Nocturna Pods, a couple run small business with a passion for pods and all things dark and lovely šŸ–¤

We are temporarily closed still, weā€™re hard at work behind the scenes to get all our ducks in a row to make sure we can have a smooth starting transition to opening for you and our pods. But we are happy to answer any questions you might have!

We keep only a few select species, but will expand to a few more! These are species we love, and love working with. Our pods are happily producing their first and some soon to be second generations so we hope to soon be able to show you what we have!

In the meantime as we work behind the scenes to get everything finalized, we can't wait to post progress pictures and pictures of these guys in general!

My name is Kaitlin but please call me Kat! I'm so thrilled to be starting this small venture from something I love to then offer you all some of our own collection. I fell in love with these little isopods even more as an adult and I love the passion that the community has for them.
