Chemistry panels help assess your cat's health along with other routine wellness exams. They're best known for evaluating how healthy organs such as the liver, kidneys, and pancreas function. Early signs of liver and kidney disease and diabetes can be detected through this test. A urine sample is also recommended for a thorough check to get a complete picture of your cat's health. Have you scheduled your pet's routine wellness exam? Contact us at (931) 240-4001.

With the busy pace of life, our dogs can't always be with us. We often have to leave them at home and return to them later. As a result, some pets may develop separation anxiety. Fortunately, there are effective ways to help them overcome this. You can train them to understand that you'll be back soon and that there's no need to worry. Techniques like counter-conditioning, gradual desensitization, increasing physical stimulation, and creating a safe space can help. If you need more guidance, please call us at (931) 240-4001.

As satisfying as this is to remove for us, it can be pretty painful for our furry friends. You can see that the patient is sedated for this thankfully!! You can also see how much hair and debris are in this ball of fur!! Our long haired dogs may need this more often than you realize!

How did we ring in 2025?? With some continuing education! 📖 💉

Super proud of this group (along with the few not photoed since we forgot to get an “official” group picture)!
This team worked to sharpen their skills and knowledge of anesthesia, which is so important for patient care! I am so proud of them as they continue to grow and improve each day! Veterinary medicine is ever evolving, and days of continued education are so important for us be able to provide the highest quality medicine around! We want to provide the very best medicine for your furry family members that we absolutely can and will continue to learn new things whenever we can!

While we may not believe it, even our unconditionally loving dogs can lash out under stress. These moments are rarely unprompted and can be avoided if we learn the different conflict defusing signs our dog will display. Respecting your dog's boundaries will leave them feeling more comfortable and safer in your household.

Did you know that cats have excellent night vision due to a reflective layer behind their retinas called the tapetum lucidum? This layer enhances their ability to see in low light conditions. Are you looking for a vet who puts the care of your pets first? Look no further! Contact us today at (931) 240-4001 to schedule an appointment.

Rabies vaccinations are required by law. The risk of human exposure outweighs the “Fluffy never goes outside” theory. Any mammal can spread rabies, including small rodents, bats, and other wildlife that frequent most yards without us knowing. Rodents and even bats can slip into a home without anyone knowing. Did you know the most common human exposure in our region are bats that get inside a home unexpectedly?!?!

Please, please get your pets’ rabies vaccines to help reduce your potential exposure! Rabies in incurable, but it is so preventable with a simple annual vaccine.

The victim, a resident of Northern Kentucky, succumbed to the disease after receiving medical treatment in both Kentucky and Ohio.

Cats are nimble, flexible, and quick due to the 230 bones in their body! Despite having an additional 24 bones to that of humans, who only have 206, the skeleton of a cat is very similar to ours. Cats have 13 ribs while humans have 12, and both have clavicles, but unlike humans, they are unattached to other bones. Stay current with your cats' healthcare needs and schedule their appointment by calling (931) 240-4001.
