Another report of rabies in a domestic animal. A puppy was transported from Texas to Colorado and was in an adoption event. So many people exposed to rabies!

This is why rabies vaccinations are so important!! They are required by state law to be up to date. Most rabies vaccinations are only labeled for one year! Please get your pets (indoor only pets too!) vaccinated for rabies!

As a continuation of PCVC’s community outreach each season, we are having our first one as Elk River Veterinary Care!
We are hosting a Back-2-School Drive!

We will be collecting school supplies including but not limited to: backpacks, crayons, pencils, lunch boxes, folders, notebooks, paper, socks, underwear, tissues, paper towels, Clorox wipes, etc.! We will also take monetary donations as well if you aren’t able to make it to the store, and we will go to the store and collect the supplies for you! We are so excited to give back to our children within the community!
Our drop box will be in the lobby. Feel free to ask any staff member of ERVC if you need any assistance!

Did you know that we do offer “spa days” at our new building?? Shanna does a fantastic job at bathing, shave downs as well as brush/blow outs! She also will do some lion cuts on some of your kitties!
We know it can be hard to get into a full service groomer, so we are happy to be able to offer this to our clients!

We have been working hard to put some personal touches on the building over the last couple weekends! These things could literally never get completed without my staff and some of their significant others! We have had a whole family helping us move last weekend, these guys working to organize, clean and prepare more exam rooms. After having to run an errand back at the old building, I returned to this task being completed! This is much harder of a task to get completed than I ever thought it would be, but they did it!
I’m so thankful for each and everyone of my staff members and their family members who volunteered their time to help us prepare to better serve our community and their pets!

We also would like to thank all of the clients who have been in this week for their patience as we started our first week as Elk River Veterinary Care! It has been a harder transition than expected with merging schedules and things so we thank everyone for their patience! We will continue to grow, improve and get better to serve you and your beloved furry family members!

Look at this beautiful building! Just a reminder that Elk River Veterinary Care formerly known as PCVC is now located in the former Highland Rim Animal Clinic building at 2907 Huntsville Hwy. The building has been painted white so you may not recognize it. And don’t forget that both PCVC and HRAC phone numbers still work.

Our concern for your pet and their wellbeing is so high! We know coming to a vet clinic can be so stressful with other people, animals, sounds and smells. As inconvenient as it may be, sometimes we do have to stop for your pet or even suggest calming medication or sedation to help them not be so scared or stressed. We want your pet to have the very best experience possible! ♥️🐾

This pretty pup was found near Kelso a few weeks ago. The new guardian has updated vaccines, but is really wanting to return the dog to its home.The current guardian has asked me not to provide specific details about the dog so that the real owner has a chance to identify. If you know who this dog belongs to please reach out to us. Or if you are interested in adopting the pup let us know that too. It appears to be between 1-2 years old but not more than 2.

We are excited to announce some BIG news for our Park City Veterinary Clinic family!
We love our quaint, little house, but we have grown so much over the last few years that we have simply outgrown our building. While it is an excellent "problem" to have, for us to continue serving our clients and the community we will be moving to a new location very soon!

To accomplish this, Dr. Strope has purchased Highland Rim Animal Clinic from Dr. Warden. This will let us have more space to grow both practices, to continue to improve and provide the highest quality medicine for the community, and allow Dr. Warden to prepare for retirement in her future.

Park City Veterinary Clinic will be moving to 2907 Huntsville Highway hopefully within the month, so please bear with us as we progress through this merger and transition. While we know there may be questions, we want to assure everyone that Dr. Strope, Dr. Jones, Dr. Warden and all of their staff members will be available to see you and your wonderful pets! We are so excited for this opportunity to improve and continue to provide high quality care to serve Lincoln County and Northern Alabama.
