The last 24 hours have been emotionally and physically taxing to the extreme. We knew both you and Ellie were at end of life and in hospice care. What we weren’t prepared for was to lose you both in less than 24 hours. We are hurting and weren’t prepared to say good bye to you after just losing Ellie, but it was clear you were done fighting your fight with Lymphoma, and as much as it hurts we didn’t want you to hold on and struggle for us. You and your brother Anakin were a special pair and we are so glad we were able to be part of the last 5 years of your lives. We hope we did right by your original mom who loved you very much and we are sure her, Anakin, and Ellie were there waiting for you when you crossed that bridge. We are hurting, but we are grateful for the time we had with you and were able to save both you and your brother. Give everyone your Susie kisses for us. Whipped cream time won’t be the same without you and Anakin, always in our hearts, our Susie sniffles ❤️

Sometimes people ask about the koi we rescued a while back, and while we always like to show updated pics or video of our sanctuary residents, it's not always possible when it comes to those who live in the depths of our pond. Today we were lucky enough to get somewhat of a clear shot of them after the heavy rains this afternoon, they're about twice their size now, what's interesting to observe(not captured in video) is the gold fish and koi school separately from each other even though they were in a small landscape pond together when they were rescued.
