We're looking forward to the Herd Meditation Friday - August 2nd! Looks like cooler temps are on the way, perhaps with some showers. We're rain or shine, and the covered arena is a delightful place to share with horses while a cold-front rolls in. RSVP is appreciated #herd #meditation #chill #becool #calm #horses
We wish you all a peaceful and grounding holiday weekend. We will be hosting our monthly First Friday Herd Meditation as planned, and share it as an opportunity to connect and reflect with the herd for peace and tranquility.
RSVPs through the event link are greatly appreciated, as they help us accommodate the growing human herd.
Hay season!

Horses are truly special creatures. 😊
There are just two days left in the Seen Through Horses campaign hosted by Horses for Mental Health. It has been an honor to be a part of this!

It's been a remarkable month! We're grateful and proud of the supportive community. We can’t believe how far we’ve come!
There is just two days left to go in the Seen Through Horses campaign. We'd love it if you'd take a look through our posts, share anything meaningful to you and of course, if you're able to to donate, you could help us cross that last milestone...
From our herd to yours - thank you!

Founded and led by Red Horse’s own, Fred Bueltmann – Great Lakes Brass draws from New Orleans traditions, where brass bands express the pulse of communities, celebrating life, mourning loss, and looking ahead. Reverence for history is intertwined with ongoing creative adaptation, and our pledge to play it forward. Trumpet, trombone, and saxophone play familiar melodies driven by sousaphone and percussion. On the street or the stage, this music moves! Jump in the Herd Parade or hang out with 'em at the Porch! #livemusic #michiganmusic #peacefulspace #secondline #brassbands
The Red horse herd is the heart and soul of our work. Taking care of them is essential to what we do, supports their health and wellness and reflects our gratitude for their generosity.

"Why horses?" one might wonder. Here are a few examples that shed light on the answer.

“This is the only place I feel free”
“Can we come back every year?”
“This is like being a kid again”
We completed our last program of the semester with our local schools yesterday.
Because of donations from our communities, we have been able to offer four different programs, free of charge, to the students and faculty, to offer healing and safety following an incident of gun violence.
We need to keep these programs available and free of charge and we can’t do that without a village.
Please consider a small or big donation towards these programs continuing next school year. The kids are benefitting in so many ways, and we love to capture their spontaneous comments, like the ones above.
Thank you all. Link in comments.
We continue to be amazed at the amount of support we have received. Here, we'd like to highlight a few of the programs your generosity will positively impact.

Rural mental health
In Allegan County and throughout rural America, individuals seeking mental health support often face barriers due to lack of access to quality resources. Often overshadowed by stigma, finding mental health help can be difficult, leaving individuals feeling unheard and alone. Yet amidst these challenges, hope emerges through partnerships with horses.
We invite you to witness a powerful story of resilience and healing. It is through mental health programs involving horses like our wonderful herd, that help residents overcome these challenges and find peace.
It’s incredible to see how horses, when incorporated into therapy, can create a healthier rural future.
Join us in breaking the stigma by donating to show your support for those living with mental illness in rural America. Special thanks to @gateway_family_services and @ruralminds_

It's hard to describe the impact that leaning into trauma-informed principles has had on us. For us it began as a helpful perspective to provide emotional safety. It has since become a way of being. It informs how we work with our horses, other humans, and each other. We work for it to be an ever-present part of who we are and what we do.
We share it with other facilitators, and clients both directly through a workshop and indirectly through interactions and sessions.
If you'd like to learn more, check out our online learning course, "Healing Culture Through a Trauma-informed Lens. Coming soon; Nurturing Your Therapeutic Herd.
If you'd like to support our trauma-informed approach through the Seen Through Horses Campaign, there's a donation link in the comments as well.
