Things were a little quiet at Red Horse this week, with frigid temperatures, lots of snow and lots of sessions and events cancelled as a result.

However, today the sun is shining on beautiful brand new friendships and collaborations made via zoom or in person over the last few weeks.

These new connections were born out of our Listening Session on January 3rd.

We can’t wait to tell you about what’s coming!!! Stay tuned.

Come join us at Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant & Winery for a special event benefiting Red Horse Center! This special edition, 5-course dinner celebrates community through a shared meal with friends, old and new. It also showcases collaborative support, raising awareness and funds for Red Horse Center and their mission to provide equitable access to mental health, personal wellness and youth support in our community.

Reserve your seat in advance, and join us for 5 wonderful courses, each paired with our own hard ciders & wines, all while supporting a great local cause. The Red Horse team will be here speaking, telling heartfelt stories of transformation through the amazing collaboration with horses. They'll answer questions, and invite you to be part of the community they have created. You'll also hear from the Crane's team about the food & drink pairings and if we're lucky, some remarkable stories from the vault.

Hannah Laine will shape the aesthetic and mood with her music.

Let's come together to make a difference. See you there!
*All pairings are included in the price, additional beverages may be purchased separately.

The First Friday Winter Series is entering the new year! On January 3rd, our topic is Pride and Ally Support. We see this as a listening circle of sorts. We're inviting the community to share their voices or ears in a discussion about what it looks like to support our LGBTQ+ community. We'll have a virtual link available for this one, so you can join us in person or take part in the conversation from anywhere. Hot chocolate, tea and snacks are only provided in person...

RSVPS are appreciated - link in comments.

Feast of Epona, our volunteer and local donor appreciation party, was just lovely.

We were able to connect with a new volunteer, have meaningful conversations and enjoy each others company and a great potluck!

Fred cooked up some super tasty GLØGG and Danish æbleskiver to delight our tastebuds.

It was full of HYGGE!

Thank you to the best crew ever!

Way back in Spring, we began a conversation with DeeDee Hanson, a member of Lakeshore Women Who Care, about sharing the Red Horse Story with their group and beginning a relationship that could support our programs.

In November, at their fourth quarter meeting, DeeDee shared the story of Red Horse Center and Horses Empowering Youth, alongside Ulla and Fennville student, Grace - who fielded questions about her experience.

Hearing Grace share her thoughts, with calm confidence and a genuine appreciation for what they refer to as "Project Red Horse," was a real treat. Her reflections were a warm reminder of why this work is important, and how we can both support and be inspired by the next generation.

It was also particularly encouraging to be chosen as the fourth quarter nonprofit to receive donations from Lakeshore Women Who Care. Red Horse is the proud and grateful recipient of $7,600 in support of Horses Empowering Youth. It was a tremendous boost to our Fall Support Drive, and essential for the 2024/25 school year.

We are also grateful for the many conversations and relationships that have been started through the meetings and introductions we've been a part of. What a great reminder of the strength and warmth of community support!

Lakeshore Women Who Care is a group of local women who care deeply about supporting the non-profits working and serving in our community. They meet four times per year to learn about the work and the needs of local Allegan County non-profits.

Women of Allegan County are invited to join their group and help make a difference. You're welcome to attend one of their meetings to check it out and learn more. We'll be back at their March 13th meeting to give an update on the HEY program and share our thanks once again. Check out their page to connect, or let us know and we'll make an introduction.

Last week, Susan and Judy made a trip through the snow to warm our hearts with their donations.

THANK YOU WOMEN WHO CARE!!!
