Dirty wishes everyone a happy Labor Day. His name 'Dirty' comes from his distinctive dirty blonde color, a mix of palomino and dark hairs, giving the appearance of an unbrushed coat. As a gentle quarter horse, he's ready to carry both first-time and experienced riders through our beautiful wooded trails. Dirty's best friend is Wonder, featured here a few weeks ago. Drum roll please! It's the one you've all been waiting for. Today's Meet The Herd Monday, and we're introducing you to the one and only Lasso!

This handsome fella is a Gypsy Vanner cross with a mustache that'll make you do a double take. He's got a playful, silly, personality, and he loves attention and treats -but be careful or he'll try to steal your Jolly Ranchers or candy if you have any. He's a guide favorite at Wild West Ranch Horseback Riding, and of you meet him for yourself you'll quickly see why, as he Lassos everyone's hearts.

Behind the scenes at Wild West! We do trail rides early in the morning to beat the heat and let our horses rest, so they're not working in the hot parts of the day, but that doesn't mean the humans stop working 💪

Moody transformed from a formerly bound-for-slaughter pony to a thriving member of our horseback riding family. Moody's journey demonstrates that with care and dedication, anyone can overcome their past and achieve greatness.

Myer says just five more minutes please!

This handsome sleepyhead is half Appaloosa, half paint, and one hundred percent amazing. He was named after a dear friend of ours (even though this horse's love of sleeping on the job should have dubbed him snooze). Myer's calm, and sweet demeanor makes him the perfect companion for nervous riders, and his love for naps makes him the ultimate cuddle buddy.

Meet the herd Monday is coming in hot!
This one might make you cry

Today we meet Wonder! The little pony with a big heart.

Wonder is an ex-Amish pony that found himself in the slaughter pipeline after sustaining a bad injury to his front leg.
Injured and so scared of everyone, it took a lot of work to get him all healed up (inside and out) and to learn to trust us. Everyday we wondered. Wondered what happened to this sweet guy, wondered if he'd be sound, wondered if he'd be a riding stable pony, wondered, and wondered, and wondered . So that's what we named him Wonder.

Now days Wonder is a wonderful part of the Wild West Ranch family and gives all of the love and kindness we pour into him back to the kids that come to visit him.

Now... We wonder when you plan to come meet him?!

It's Monday! Time to meet the herd.
Today we say hello to Fudge, the oldest member of the Wild West Ranch family. He's around 40 years old, (quite elderly for an equine), but still going strong and refuses to stop doing what he loves. Fudge got his name from his chocolate color and because let's face it, everyone loves fudge!

Before coming to the ranch, he was an Amish pony who pulled a cart and took kids to school, making him a retired school bus. At the Wild West, he enjoys spending time with kids and giving them great experiences. Fudge's also loves his special food slop and socializing with the other horses. Fudge is an amazing and irreplaceable member of the Ranch.

At the Wild West Ranch, we introduce you to our horse family every Monday through our series, Meet the Herd Monday! Today's star is Rehab!

Rehab is one of many rescues here at the Wild West Ranch. Prior to becoming part of our family he was an Amish horse who was worked so hard he became lame. No longer able to serve their purpose he was sent off on a slaughter truck. Thankfully we were able to get him off of that trailer and bring him home. With a lot of rest, love, and rehabilitation he made a tremendous come back, and earned his name.

Rehab has been an unreplaceable member of the Wild West Ranch now for many, many years. From carriage and sleigh rides, to the trails he's happy to do it all and is loved by so many people.

At the Wild West Ranch, we're excited to introduce you to our horse family every Monday through our series, Meet the Herd Monday! Today's spotlight horse is Play-Doh!

Play-Doh is a little pony with a big resume. He was previously used for archery and riflery compilations, meaning you can shoot bows/guns off of his back (how's that for The Wild West?!). He got his name because you can do anything with him, he's uniquely colored, and is for kids of course. The only thing cooler than his fearless personality is his striking eyes -which are split down the middle - half blue, half brown. Both eyes! If eyes are the windows too the soul than this pony has quite the story to be told. ❤️
