Chuck Waggin Pet Food Pantry wants to join Good Morning America in wishing all the shelter and rescue pets a Happy Dogust 1st!!!
If you don't know what I am talking about....the majority of all the animals that come into rescue have an unknown history. This includes their birthdates. So August 1st has been designated the national birthday for all rescue and shelter pets and it is referred to as Dogust 1st.
So huge shout out to all of the rescue pets like my own 4 puppers that are all comfy this morning laying in bed with me watching GMA. Those are the lucky ones that have found loving forever homes.
Please don't forget all the dogs and cats who are in shelters right now hoping to find a family to love. If you have ever thought about adopting a rescue, why not visit an area shelter and meet some of the pets available for adoption? There is no greater Dogust 1st gift that you could give to an animal other than a furever home with a family to love them.
Chuck Waggin is devoted to maintaining those bonds. So for those who are struggling to afford to feed their pets, we provide free pet food to those in need. Our mission is Keeping Pets With their People.
So celebrate your rescue pet today with an extra hug and kiss (and a treat, of course!!!). There is no greater loyalty and unconditional love than that which you receive from a pet whose life you saved. Trust me.... they know!

Anyone with a senior dog like my Lola girl ( 15 1/2 yrs old ) knows that not every day is a good day. With arthritis in her joints and weakness in her hind legs it is not easy for Lola to do a lot of things that she used to take for granted. As much as she TOTALLY HATES IT! Momma has to lift her into the van ( when we had it!), or the truck. It is a literal insult to her pride when I have to give her hind end a boostey just to stand up. It makes both of us SO SAD to see each of us getting older. So when you have days like this, when I was sorting and organizing our dog treat inventory for Great Lakes Pet Treats it was SO fun seeing my snarky girl trying to sneak behind my back and steal a cow cheek! Her nickname has always been my Snarky B ( which of course is...snarky b...h). Lola lives to defy my wishes and to do EXACTLY what I tell her NOT to do! So, it was fun to see her sassy side today as she climbed right INTO the cow cheek box and was actually able to one up her little sister, April dog because for once she ruled the treats and wasnt going to share with A-dog!!! No Way! Too funny...because April dog did'nt take it well, as you can clearly see!
