We announced some time ago that we were going to launch some new video content. With TikTok's future hanging the balance, we've postponed that to see how this all plays out. We're not terribly thrilled with the Reels feature so we're open to ideas. We'd like to start content soon 💕

Boarding News! (and winter offer!) 💲

I promised that I would change a few things to save you money and give you a special offer, but life got in the way last week so I didn't get a chance to make announcements.

First: Add-ons for boarding and their pricing have changed a bit. Oral care is now a daily service and includes breath freshening and tartar fighting enzymes. In addition, you can now choose between lick pads and pup cups for less... and we've also added pup ice cream and lattes for the same low cost 💕 You'll find all these optional perks on the add-on screen when creating your reservation. As always, comforts like blankets, added potty/play time, human play and treats are always included in your boarding rate.

But most importantly: We've lowered our shared space rate! If your pups are eligible to share an enclosure, your rate will lower significantly. We do reserve the right to keep siblings in separate enclosures if they don't share space well, but we've implemented something new: A family rate for dogs that need their own enclosure! It's not as high as the shared space rate but still ensures that families save a little.

We've always loved our Doggijuana line of toys so we thought we'd carry Meowijuana - A Catnip Company. In addition, we're expecting a line of treats and toys from Koira including freeze dried minnows (that cats loose their minds over).

Last picture: Doug was so obsessed with the Meowijuana order, he parked himself in the box and started digging through the products. We offered him a catnip "joint" and he LOVED it. All their catnip is organically grown and 100% pure.

Big but not so new news:

We've always offered to be a safe haven for pets and select wildlife in need of emergency care. For most of my adult life I've tried to help in some capacity, both animals and humans in crisis. This desire to help was inherited by my children. Lately, the demand has been greater, prompting us to make some decisions so we can operate efficiently and do something special to honor our late son, Jette and his brother Keith.

This year, I'm obtaining my wildlife rehab permit and modifying some spaces in my home to accommodate limited guests in need of rehabilitation. In addition to that, we've also been working with local organizations so that we can care for displaced pets while their owners obtain mental health care, addiction treatment or flee domestic abuse. We'll be able to operate with the help of private funding and grants under a new nonprofit status that will act as an extension of our business. It's taken time to sort out details, make sure we've got the correct paperwork and more. We are not and will never be a "rescue" operation in the typical use of the term, but will work closely with the Humane Society when needed. We are very fortunate to have an incredible and dedicated team of people taking care of stray and surrendered animals in our community. That is not our mission. Our mission is to care for and facilitate the return of animals (to their owner or the wild) that need our temporary care due to crisis. We will operate on a very small scale.

We're excited to continue doing what we love under an official name and status. More to come....

In the meantime, this is Bolt. Bolt is nearly 4 years old and quite possibly the smartest dog I've ever met. He came to us in June when an owner was in crisis but was not reunited and instead, left with us. He is still in need of a home. He's a typical heeler so he comes with quirks and risks if he's not placed with someone who is patient and understands him. He is not dangerous... in fact he's extremely loving but he's stubborn and smart. He would make the most excellent adventure partner and he loves car rides 💕 He's done well with select dogs and our shop cat, Doug (they're friends). He can leave the facility any time he wants because he can climb the fences 😆, but he chooses to stay where he knows he's safe and it's one of the quirks we've learned to watch for*. He needs a real home, though. Please message if you think he's your boy.

*It should be noted that we have never had a dog escape. We are very diligent and won't board dogs that are climbers. Bolt is a special situation and he is monitored at all times. His indoor enclosure has been modified to keep him safe.
