🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGIE🎉

Georgie celebrated his birthday recently at daycare and brought in the SWEETEST treats for his dog friends and cupcakes for the staff from .cakes 🤗

Georgie's parents have a business Cannon Creates where they create BEAUTIFUL stained glass art and donate all profits to our Humane Society of Otter Tail County 🥰

Georgie is a happy go lucky dog! He LOVES training and learning new things. He was a pro doing the teeter totter at agility class!

We enjoy having you, Georgie, and we hope you had the sweetest birthday 💚💙🩵💜

Fun Facts about our furry friends and their ears:

🙉 Hearing
Dogs can hear 4x better than us! They can hear sounds we can't, including ultrasonic frequencies. They can hear sounds from up to 80 feet away.

💪 Ear muscles
Dogs have 18 muscles in their ears, which is 3x more than us! These muscles allow dogs to move their ears independently, and to tilt, raise, and rotate them in different ways.

🗣 Communication
Dogs use their ears to communicate a lot, similar to how they use their tails.

👂Ear Canal Shape
A dog's ear canal runs vertically toward the jaw before taking an almost 90-degree turn horizontally toward the eardrum. This shape makes it easier for dogs to develop ear infections.

So their ears do have more function than just being incredibly cute 😆!

Groomers deserve ALL the love and appreciation!!! 🙌

Dog groomers not only help keep our furry friends looking and feeling great, they also manage every dog with a great amount of care. Not every dog has confidence getting bathed, getting their coat or nails trimmed, but our groomers show incredible sensitivity and care to make sure each dog stays comfortable and safe 🥰

Although it is Groomer Appreciation Day, we can not go without mentioning our INCREDIBLE support staff in our grooming barn. Shoutout to Diane, our bather, who shows great kindness to all the dogs! And of course Jackie, our receptionist, who manages all the day to day and keeps the barn running! Thank you both for the care you bring and the hard work you put in 💚

Fall Daycare Camp: Football Game 🏈🐾

➡️Why do we put on themed daycare camps?

As adorable as these camps are, it is much more than getting cute photos out of it!

All of our daycare camps include themed enrichment activities that stimulate them physically and mentally by expanding their world and opening their minds to new smells, textures, and tasks. Enrichment is a key part of daycare every day, but with our theme camps, we come up with new activities that they wouldn't experience on a regular day.

The bonus is that camps are also incredibly cute 🥰 !

Fall camp activities from Wednesday🍁🍎🫧:

Here is a peek as some of the fun our campers got into on Wednesday! They got to get pretty goofy with these fall festivities 😆

On Wednesday they had the chance to put their noses to the test with a game of leaf pile fetch and search. Followed with a classic fall activity- apple bobbing and then a chase after maple bacon flavored bubbles.

We only captured the leaf pile, which was a hit- it's always the simple things for dogs 😊

Reindeer Training last week at Santa Paws was a success!! We added additional obtacle courses in the daycare area to prepare our reindeer helpers! The dogs always enjoy discovering anything new added to their environment in daycare, and this was no exception! The rest of the pictures from Santa Paws will be posted tonight 🎅!!

Santa Paws RECAP : Day 1 Holiday Themed Treats 😋 All of our Santa Paws pups enjoyed their holiday Puppucinos! As you can see by their *hungry eyes*, they were eager to dig in 👀😂 !!

Murphy is categorized as a high-energy, high drive dog. We use the flirt pole as a lure, getting dogs to run, jump, lunge, and change directions. Who We Are

Canine Acres is a pet boarding and grooming facility located on a rolling 40-acre hobby farm just outside of Fergus Falls, MN. Having undergone a complete renovation in 2012, our state-of-the art facility is often referred to the “Taj Mahal for Pets” by our customers. In addition to offering a clean, comfortable, safe environment for your pet, our facility has in-floor heating, central air conditioning, and a convenient check-in/check-out lobby.

Upon arriving at Canine Acres, you will appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere. We strive to be attentive not only to our visiting pets but also to their owners’ unique and sometimes unpredictable life situations. Though we run a professional pet care business, we regard our pet owners as familiar friends whose names we will remember after the very first visit.
