263 Days Waiting for Home

The Character: BOOTS! A fully vetted, 2-3 year old, tabby and white, lovely lady located in Fernandina Beach, FL.

The Setting: Boots was living outdoors when an elderly individual brought her inside. Things were looking up! But after a couple weeks, she gave birth to a litter of kittens, and her new person was unable to care for everyone. The whole family was brought to the animal shelter, Cats Angels.

The Plot: Cats Angels had kittens. A lot of kittens. When visitors would come up to Boots, she would get a little overwhelmed, and throw out a paw to say, “Whoa, need some personal space here”. Once the kittens got adopted, Boots had time and space to realize what she wanted in life. And that was a warm lap to curl up on and endless relaxation. She still throws a paw out there sometimes, but it’s to say, “Hey, slow down, and enjoy my company”. Boots went to a temporary hurricane foster last summer, and she found her Zen sleeping on laps.

The “Perfect” Ending: Boots is a modern cat in a modern world waiting for that special “someone” who is OK with not having kids in their life. She’s done her “kitten time” already, and she wants to spend her time around mature (older kids, adults) people. While no other pets would be ideal, she is totally open to respectful, non-dominant other pets who know the proper way to introduce themselves. She LOVES looking outdoors, so a screened porch or lanai would be a dream come true. Boots says she is happy to be “the pet” in your life and will gladly curl up on your lap every day, as well as give you a reality check with her paw whenever you need it. What more can you ask for?!
