💕 A heartfelt message from our Ferndale Cat Shelter family 💕

We're writing to you today with thoughtful consideration and hopeful spirits. Like so many small businesses and nonprofits, we're facing the reality that the cost of... well, EVERYTHING has gone up significantly.

🐾 Here's the thing: Every single day, we pour our hearts (and wallets) into giving these precious souls the best possible care. From premium food and litter to life-saving medical treatments, toys that bring joy, and the countless hours of love our volunteers and staff provides - it all adds up.

📅 Starting July 1st, 2025, we're adjusting our prices:

Adoption Fees:
🐱 1 kitten: $200
🐱 2 kittens: $350 (because bonded pairs are magical!)
🐱 1 adult cat: $175
🐱 2 adult cats: $300 (double the love!)

Catfé Lounge:
☕ $18/hour during weekdays
👶 Special kids' discounts coming soon!

But here's what hasn't changed: Our unwavering commitment to being a NO-KILL shelter. Our promise that every adoption fee goes directly back into caring for more cats in need. Our dedication to matching you with your perfect feline companion.
We know this isn't easy news to share or hear. Trust us, we've agonized over this decision. But every dollar helps us continue rescuing, healing, and rehoming these incredible cats who deserve nothing but the best.

The cats of Ferndale Cat Shelter are ready to play — and they play to win. Join us for Board Game Night at the Catfe Lounge, where our resident feline felons will be prowling the game board, plotting your financial downfall in Catopoly, pouncing during Exploding Kittens, and generally causing adorable chaos.

🧩 Bring your favorite board game or try one of ours!
🐾 Come solo or with your gaming crew — either way, you'll make some paw-some new friends.
⏰ Get 2 hours of gameplay (normally $15/hr) for just $15 total!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Kelso and Houdini’s meowage on Saturday! Thank you to the lovely Ann St Peter who made an adorable wedding cake with ceramic kitty toppers. Thank you to DJ Grim Tim for playing awesome tracks on the turntables. Thank you to Mel from Best Fudging Brownies for making delicious food that was perfect for a 90° day. Thank you to all the folks who couldn’t make it, but made donations and sent us lots of cat food and supplies. We truly do have the best community of supporters! xoxo

🚨 Urgent Kitten Food Shortage! 🚨

Friends, we need your help. The Ferndale Cat Shelter and Catfé Lounge are completely overwhelmed with kittens right now and our supply of kitten food is running dangerously low. 💔

We are especially in need of wet kitten food, which is critical for their growth and health but both wet and dry food are deeply appreciated.

These little lives depend on us. If you can donate even a few cans, you’re helping tiny mouths stay fed and fragile bodies grow strong. 🐾

You can drop off food at the Catfé Lounge or send it via our Amazon or Chewy Wishlists. Every donation makes a difference. 💛
