💔➡️💖 A New Beginning for the New Year: Fannie May & Ozzie 💖➡️💔

Sometimes rescue isn’t just about saving cats—it’s about stepping in when life takes an unexpected turn.

Fannie May and Ozzie are two young, deserving kitties who need a soft place to land. Their original rescuer, who loves them dearly, is now facing health challenges and can no longer care for them. With heavy hearts but hopeful spirits, we are searching for a foster-to-adopt home where these sweet souls can feel safe, cherished, and truly home as we welcome the New Year.

Rescued during a Detroit TNR project, Fannie May and Ozzie began life outdoors alongside their mom and siblings. While they are safe now, those early days left their mark—and what they need most is patience, kindness, and time.

🌸 Fannie May, a stunning gray tuxedo girl, is a quiet and tender presence. She’s still learning that humans can be trusted and that love doesn’t have to be rushed. Gentle and low-key, she enjoys playtime in small doses and is happiest in a calm, predictable environment. Fannie May would blossom in the care of someone who understands that the most meaningful bonds are often built slowly, one soft moment at a time.

💙 Ozzie, a gray and white tabby boy, may startle at loud noises and new situations, but his heart is full of affection. Once he feels comfortable, Ozzie seeks out lap time and long, soothing pets—on his own terms. He’ll quietly make his way into your space, curl up close, and stay as long as you’ll have him. Playful and social with other cats, Ozzie would love a home with feline friends to help him feel confident and secure.

These two have already been through so much. What they need now is someone willing to open their heart and home—to offer stability, patience, and love during a time of transition.

The Catfé Lounge is a community space where people and cats come together to enjoy each other's company, sip coffee or tea, volunteer, learn something new and make friends. We are a part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter - a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the welfare of cats in the Metro Detroit community. Cats and kittens at the Catfé are available for adoption, and the café is a community space where people can meet and socialize with cats and kittens before they find their forever homes. If you're feeling curious, stop by the Catfé for some self-serve drinks and snacks and to make some new feline friends. We offer self-serve coffee, tea and juice along with cookies for kids. We ask for a suggested donation of $10 to enjoy the space and support the care of our rescue kitties. All donations are gratefully appreciated.
