Regarding the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) that has killed both domestic and wild felines. Please do not to feed pets unpasteurized milk or raw/undercooked meat. Pets should also be kept away from wild birds. Please read for the FDA's guidance for pet owners regarding HPAI.

The FDA is providing pet owners and animal caretakers with information about ways to reduce the risk to their animals of contracting HPAI (H5N1).

Shelton WA sanctuary loses 20 big cats to the highly pathogenic avian influenza.

More than half of the cats at the sanctuary in Shelton, Wash., died of the virus over the past several weeks.

A huge THANK YOU to Alternative Humane Society for their year long support in providing assistance to our FERAL25 Program. It takes a village to care for its community cats. An important part of any feral cat program is the ear tip which is typically the left ear. The ear tip is a visual marker that the cat has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and has been part of a TNR program. Spay Neuter Northwest is dedicated to advocating for and improving the lives of feral cats.
