Thank you to all who have replied to the poll we set out. As a result of the overwhelming responses saying "yes", we requested trials.

We have been approved for midweek trials in September. The first day (Tuesday), September 13, 2022 will be an Elite Trial. The second day (Wednesday), September 14, 2022 will be an NW3. Opening date is August 1, 2022. The trials will be held in Lynden, WA. Hopefully, these dates will fit into your schedules. Please plan to join us.

This is a poll. Please answer.

We have an opportunity to rent a location for Nose Work trials this fall. The location is available only in the middle of the week. Would you be interested in (would you register for) a middle of the week NW3 or Elite trial in Northwest Washington?

Thank you.

Last evening while teaching our last class, several students from other classes showed up. They came over to where our last search was being held. Janine Strada Vander Yacht held a box behind her back. She came with an enchanted portrait of Nose Work Magic’s founder, MAGIC. Magically, he almost comes back to life when looking into his sparkling eyes, touching his wonderful black nose, and seeing his impish grin.

We are blessed with a phenomenal Nose Work Magic community composed of past, present, and future humans and their teammates. Each bringing joy, amazement, and delight to all.

Humbly and with heartfelt thanks to everyone, both US and Canadian, for this beautiful way to keep our boy visually and memorably alive in our hearts. ❤️

Thank you,

Alecia and Stefan Elvstad

There are so many to thank for this past weekend. Competitors, officials, and volunteers!!!!!!

Our double NW3 weekend is finished with so many special comments to make. Thank you to each competitor who shared their weekend with their four-leaded partners. What love you share. 🙏❤️🐾❤️

The best gift of the weekend was seeing our friends on both sides of the border reunited as competitors and volunteers. ❤️🇨🇦🇺🇸❤️

Thank you to our phenomenal CO, Cathie Laber, and our incredible judges, Fabian Jackson and Christina Bunn. They each imparted wisdom, gave important support, and continued to show their passion for our game.

Thank you for the extraordinary army of volunteers. The set up drew started on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, the front line team started at 7:00 a.m. setting up each search area, the welcome and check-in, hospitality for the volunteers and competitors, and the score room.

On Saturday, Janine Vander Yacht, Mary Pat Lawlor, Debbie Berghold, Steve Pitzer, Mary Braaten, Kathy Mayock, and Marian Snapp. Then before the competitors arrived, we had twenty more fantastic volunteers arrive.

On Sunday, Aida Chan, Sarah Dance, Kelly Muzzatti, Chris Monroe, Colleen Young, Amy Anderson, Elizabeth Hardie, and Marian Snapp led the charge before the rest of the volunteers and competitors arrived.

A HUGE thank you for Janine Vander Yacht, Stefan Elvstad, and Riley Moore who stayed to the very end to back the trailer and close the weekend in style, despite the bitter cold and driving winds.

We are eternally grateful and humbled the the support and love shown to and by all. ❤️🙏❤️

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting an NW1 and NW3 trial. Thank you and congratulations to each team. We had 23 NW1 titles on Saturday, including two pronounced teams (Team Stella Hill and Team Meg Elvstad). Way to go everyone. (Seven Nose Work Magic students received their NW1 titles.)

On Sunday, we continued the title streak with 13 NW3 titles and 3 NW3 Elite titles. One team walked away with a pronounced NW3. Congratulations to Team Little Debbie Becker.

Our volunteers were beyond stellar. Without their support and involvement, these trials would never exist. We are humbled by the incredible individuals who gave of their time and energy to support the trials. Placing names on this post would invariably omit a name. THANK YOU for being so "AUSSOME".

The officials were the absolute best to work with over the weekend. Thank you to Jean Richardson, Terri Spaeth-Merrick, and Jill M. Snyder for all their work and fantastic hides. We had the best of the best judging. Thank you, Christina J Bunn and Siw Lea.

We look forward to seeing everyone in 2022 with more trials.

This past weekend, we held our first Nose Work trials since February 2020. Thank you to each and everyone. Competitors braved temperatures over 100 degrees. Each competitor protecting their teammates while working to succeed in each search. Volunteers worked continuously in these conditions to make sure that everything went smoothly and that all competitors were guided in and out of each search.

Thank you to our officials. Their efforts in our sweltering conditions was beyond the call of duty. Our certifying official, Rachelle Bailey-Austin, presented fun and challenging hides to all the teams. Always smiling, supportive, and encouraging, Rachelle is absolutely incredible. Our two judges, Chris Daves and Fabian Jackson topped of the weekend. We could not have asked for better judges.

To our volunteer coordinators, Aida Chan Aly Horry, and Kat Carroll…you are the BEST. Your efforts to keep everything moving and safe, was perfect. Thank you!

Our volunteer list goes on and on. Everyone came, ready to work. Each knowing the challenges we faced with the high temperatures. Our four seach leads: Alex Albuerne Mary Pat Lawlor, Aida Chan and Tonya Kniest, worked endless throughout both days. Our score room was outstanding under the leadership of Marian Snapp, with helpers Carrie Bieber and Alex Albuerne.

Setup and Take Down crews made sure we were ready. Thank you to: Sarah Dance, Marian Snapp, Chris Monroe, Pat Holmes, Mary Curran, Kat Carroll, and Terri Gately.

Loaned Vehicles from Marian Snapp, Mary Pat Lawlor, Christine Vowles, and Kristen Rudy.

Saturday volunteers included Caroline el Jazmi, Barbara Martin, Kate Fallon, Renee Clegg, Carrie Bieber, Lori Hill, Cheryl Anderson, Linda Jaquish, John Strassner, Jodi Faix, Mimi Taylor, Suzanne Martin, Wendy Rowe, and Gwen Stamm.

Sunday volunteers included Andrea Stone, Chris Monroe, Pat Holmes, Karen Mullen, Alex Albuerne, Carrie Bieber, John Strassner, Heidi Ruegg, Shirley Raabe, Rebecca Schlager, Mary Curran, Jim Raabe, Sharon Robinson, Suzanne Martin, Barbara Young, Marcia Harter, and Terri Gately.

(Hopefully, we have not forgotten anyone.)

The incredible volunteer food was provided by Chris and Heather Stockard. It was fantastic. Thank you both.

And, finally, an enormous thank you to my sister, Madelyn Gordon. You are the best of the best.
