So now they are doing it, just announced on Channel 4 News. Facebook is charging all users starting Monday. You can do an opt-out by doing this. Hold your finger over this message and copy it. It can’t be shared. I do not give permission for Facebook to charge $4.99 a month to my account, also; all my pictures are my property of mine and NOT Facebook's!!!

KENNEL CLOSURE:
As some of you may already know, we recently had some issues with the heart. Repairs have been made, and now we wait for the drugs to finish the job. The worst parts of this are the issues of extreme anxiety attacks, and some depression. I will not have another echocardiogram until late June. Therefore, we will not know the percentage of heart efficiency we have risen to until then.
As we pass through this phase of life, many things come to mind. We need to downsize for sure. I am retired, 63 years old, and need to not be working all of the time. Excess acreage, old cars, old mowers, bercomac tiller, etc…, are all going bye bye. This will also include the closure of the kennel.
As the kennel shuts down, we will retain Gus, and Breezie. Should life improve enough to suit me, there could be a litter off in the distance. These two knuckleheads are more attached to us than the rest, and will continue to be our ever so loved companions. Our girl blu has already found a quality home with our daughters family, and therefore will not be available unless things don’t work out somehow.
Sally, liver and white tri-color is officially available. Born March 31, 2016. Perfectly housetrained, and follows most common commands. Good retriever, and a great nose. Definitely a snugglebum, and will sleep by your feet if allowed. Otherwise does well in a crate at night. At her age she is due to retire as a breeder, and therefore is only available to a pet home type environment. She shall be free to said quality home.
Sunnie is also available. She was born May 19, 2018. She is a lemon and white spotted/roaned/ ticked. Sunnie failed on two events to produce a litter. Both times with the same male, and therefore could produce with a quality male (needs to be PRA/PFK clear). Should she go to a kennel environment, said kennel will be well screened, and there will be a price (not yet set). If to a pet home, free, same as Sally. It should be known that she is slightly hearing impaired. Same as Sally for housetraining, and sleeping habits.

No longer do you mope around the house looking for that comfortable place that does not exist. No more falling down when we head outside. No more pain and weakness, for now you are in that place where all is healed, and life is as happy as can be. Some would say Rest In Peace, but not me for you are strong and agile again. I envision you running with those who left before you, especially your amazing son. The kennel is especially quiet at the moment, they know. Run well nugget, run like the wind.

THE TRIP TO PICK UP BLU.
Thought I would post along the way for those interested, especially the one who will worry ‘til we get home ( Marty ).
Got off hwy. 55 at Cape, 74 across the river into Illinois. We have come up to Il 146 by way of hwy 3. Now across 146 to 24 South. No frozen BS so far, just a little rain. Check in again soon.

A breeder's hand is the one that tries to revive a puppy, but sometimes he has to give up when there is no heartbeat.
The hand of a breeder is the hand that cut the umbilical cord when the mother does not ...
In addition, the hand of the breeder is the one that weighs the puppy every day to see if everything goes well.
A breeder's hand is the hand that puts a puppy away closer to the mother while the mother looks at you full of confidence ...
The hand that rubs the chest, so that breast milk is activated ...
A breeder's hand is the one that rubs on his eyes and fights fatigue and sleeps after days without falling asleep.
It is the hand that gives milk bottles day and night when there is very little yield.
A breeder's hand is the one that brings the lost puppy back to the mother, the one who plays with the puppy to socialize, the one who teaches the puppy to switch to solid nutrition.
The hand of a breeder is the hand that takes care of the little ones when it does not go well with them
The hand of a breeder is the hand you have entrusted to your future puppy in the hope that it will go well.
The hand of a breeder is the hand that is ready day and night to answer all your questions if you have any questions about anything.
For all these and many other things, the next time you shake a breeder's hand, think of everything that hand has done with love.,

If anyone has been trying to check the website for updates on the upcoming litter, or to look at our older pup available, please bear with us for a short time. Problems getting updates made with the site I use to build my site. I have jumped through more hoops than a well trained circus animal lately to say the least. Short break on my way to Mizzou. Desi has been there since Monday. Camera guided cervical A. I. Scheduled for 10:35 am. Donor is a non litter mate 1/2 brother to Gus.
At the same time, the other two girls are in cycle. Boys are going nuts, and have had a nasty fight. A dog management nightmare to say the least. Boys separated from girls and each other.
Pups should whelp mid August, and be ready to go mid October. One (probably female) is spoken for by Saline Acres for the future of the kennel. Another is spoken for to a local gal, who said she would wait for as long as it took after the glorious review we were given by another breeder. Thanks Marie Humphrey.
More news as it comes.......

This is why we dock tails. When in the field for a hunt, or just a romp through the brush, this is what can happen. They are a happy natured breed, always wagging, especially when they are where they love to be (in the field). These two will be weeks trying to heal.

Canton Mo., 50% delivery for Stevie. Going to live with previous pup Cash. Like Cash will most likely be a hunter as well as a family member. Fits perfectly with the Saline Acres motto, “Your next best buddy, in the field, by the fireplace, or both”.

I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat,
And the spirit of a Spaniel was lying at my feet.

He looked at me with kind dark eyes, ancient wisdom shining through.

In the essence of his being, I saw such love there too.

His mind locked upon my heart, as I stood there on that day,
And he told me of this story about a place so far away.

As I stood upon that hillside, in a field... of blowing wheat,
In a twinkling of a second, his spirit left my feet.

His tale put my heart at ease; all my fears did fade away

About what lay ahead of me, on another distant day:

Be it known to those interested that the new litter has been weighed and photographed. We will start to get them out on the various advertising sites tonight.. first place that they will be listed is on the Saline Acres website, and next to this page, followed by many others on FB and the web.
In addition the group went our incredible veterinary clinic today for nails-n-tails. Doc was pleased with all, no problems found.
