Rest in Peace, Charlie. Such a sweet boy all his life, intuitive and comforting, greatly missed already.

Charlie started declining slowly over the course of the last 12 months, and 2 weeks ago we learned he had become fairly anemic, with all the ā€œfixable within reachā€ things ruled out. I was pretty surprised today to learn his numbers had plummeted so low so fast as to be in crisisā€¦ he was quite a stoic boy and though I knew he was struggling with basics, I didnā€™t realize his situation was so dire with an imminent crash coming, likely over the weekend. So, I chose to say goodbye rather than let him suffer through another night. šŸ’”šŸ’›šŸ’”

Eden had a great weekend at the GSLSSC specialty - she got to compete in the Best of Breed class, and won Select twice & Best of Opposite once. Loving the prizes offered by the club - a delightful art pottery piece, and a gorgeously embroidered cooler which will always make me blush and chuckle a little bit šŸ¤

Forte at 5 months - he is teething and going through a big growth phase (slow down, Forte!!) but I love the budding big coat, and actually see more balanced body proportions than I expected to see. He is a very exuberantly affectionate boy, and is in the mood lately to throw himself into my arms for a big old hug-n-cuddle šŸ„°.

Many thanks to my friend Juliet for helping me get this age recorded - to get pics like this of puppies, it takes much persistence!

Dakota, larger than life at 8yo. Always so handsome, and these pics from this weekend with minimal grooming are true to life.

Thanks to my friend Juliet for helping get some amazing photos to capture him at his peak, and to Stacy for doing such a phenomenal job raising him to be such a responsive, vibrant boy!

Dakota is Woodruff Panorama, NA NAJ CGC, by Can Ch Heatherlandā€™s Main Attraction, ā€œTrackerā€ out of Woodruff Solstice Corona, ā€œJunaā€

Dakota is here for a week! Heā€™s such a good boy, and Forte adores him. šŸ¤© Though Forte isnā€™t yet inspired to run along after the frisbee, at the very end of this clip he shows that he truly is interested in it šŸ¤

The latest on Daisyā€¦ she appears healthy, unhurt and strong, and her big warm coat is clearly insulating her well against the elements. She definitely is in survival mode and not going to allow anyone to approach, but the orgs helping Susan are well aware of this common affect of getting lost, and seen to be giving wonderful advice and support. Thank you to everyone praying and thinking of Daisy - there is still good reason to hope for successful trapping/recovery šŸŒ¼

UPDATE 2/26/24: Daisy was spotted in rural Ottawa again this morning about 6:00am, near Sand Creek Rd and Kentucky Rd. A few miles from where she was seen yesterday. Trackers are in the area. Please call Susan with any sightings! 785-248-9029

UPDATE 2/25/24: Daisy was spotted in rural Ottawa about 8am this morning. Please share with friends in the southeast Baldwin, Ottawa, Worden, and Centropolis area! Call Susan with any sightings! 785-248-9029

UPDATE 2/24/24: Daisy sighting at Frontier Farm Credit near 56 & 59 Hwy about 7:00am! She was headed south into a field. Please notify Susan if you see Daisy! 785-248-9029

Update 8:30amā€¦ Susan went out to the site and didnā€™t initially see Daisy, but after walking around for awhile and sprinkling cat food (as advised by trapper groups working with her), Susan got back in her car and drove south. Susan thought she saw a deer, but then realized it was Daisy!! Susan lowered the car window and said her name, Daisy turned and looked, but then ran into the underbrush, and was gone.

We are very close!! This incident demonstrates how frightened Daisy still is. It is common for lost dogs to be scared and hesitant to come, even to their owners, whom they love. So please remember not to chase Daisy or even call her name, but contact Susan right away, so she can implement the strategies given to her by dog tracker/trapper groups, as she did this morning.

We made it to a puppy class! Forte did great, and we were able to work on some fantastic foundation skills and concepts. All force free, no verbal reprimands, and lots of thinking. šŸ§  Thank you, Planet Ruff Dog Training! I loved class, and love my very sleepy puppy!

UPDATE 2/18/24: Daisy was seen walking west on Stafford road near 59 Hwy today around 7am. Please call Susan at 785-248-9029 immediately if you see Daisy, and try to keep her in sight, but donā€™t approach her. Letā€™s get this girl home!

UPDATE 2/15/24: Daisy was sighted yesterday at Casey's in Baldwin, and this morning at the Post Office. Everyone please keep your eyes peeled so we can get Daisy home!

Daisy is still missing. Last seen heading south from Heritage Tractor late Sunday night, 2/11/24. If you know anyone that lives in that area, please ask them to check under their decks, around their bushes, in their outbuildings, sheds, and garages. Any place a frightened dog might hide. If you see Daisy, please do not approach her, but call Susan at 785-248-9029. Please also alert anyone you know in the Wellsville, Edgerton, LeLoup and Ottawa areas, as she couldā€™ve traveled a significant distance by now. If you belong to any groups in the surrounding areas please share this post.
