Kenna is 2.5 years old and weighs 62lbs. She is very slender and sleek with a blue speckle in one of her eyes- just a beautiful dog! She was returned to us after 2 years in a home, adopted as a puppy. The family just had a baby and Kenna became very protective of the baby and would fight with the other dog when it got too close. They were heartbroken to bring her back because she is really a great dog – loves to cuddle and is pretty calm and gentle. She is also housetrained and knows some simple commands. Kenna, for the most part, gets along with other dogs and loves kids. She has not been around cats, but we can introduce her if needed. schspets.org/kenna

Snickers is a fun, affectionate young lady. She enjoys cuddles but also like to play. She is pretty laid back and loves other dogs and kids. Snickers would like a family that will offer tons of attention and affection; she prefers to be where the action is and not left all by her lonesome. A home with another dog would be great, but plenty of human attention will do just fine. Snickers is full grown at 45lbs and is just over a year old. Stone County Humane Society

Sammie at Stone County Humane Society, is 6 years old, and was brought to us by her owner who could no longer take care of her due to health problems. Sammie was very overweight when we got her, but is slimming down. She is down to 78lbs now (from 90). She has been both indoors and outdoors and is house trained. She does well with other dogs and kids. Sammie has a very calm, sweet disposition and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She is used to being in a home and would make a great family pet. schspets.org/sammie

This little love bug is Ham, aka Hamilton or Hammy. He is full grown at 26lbs and is such a sweetheart. He loves other dogs and goes crazy for b***y scratches. He is very shy at first but will love you to death if you give him time to warm up to you! He has a very gentle nature and you can tell he just wants to be loved. Ham is house-trained, neutered and up to date on shots. www.schspets.org/ham

Ghost is one of the sweetest dogs ever. He is calm, a little timid, but loves everyone he meets. We don’t know anything about his past but we do know he has a very pleasing personality and responds well to verbal cues. He would do well with kids and probably other dogs, but at the moment he is very afraid of the other dogs. Ghost has a pretty bad scar on his face, and we are thinking he got it from another dog. We do know he has a history of chasing cats but has never hurt one; we think that’s just the herding instinct in him. Ghost would make a great family pet – is playful and active. He is partially house trained too. Ghost is about 2 years old and weighs 42lbs. He is a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd Mix with a nub tail. www.schspets.org/ghost
