April is National Heartworm Awareness Month. Heartworm disease is caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart and blood vessels of infected animals. It is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. The best way to prevent heartworm disease is through consistent heartworm prevention medication. The 4th of July is a wonderful holiday (we really do love it), but dreadful for dogs with firework phobias. There are many things you can do for your dog! We hope this video of suggestions provides education and relief for those scared pups.
