As the beautiful spring and summer flowers begin to bloom, remember to use caution before bringing those beautiful bouquets inside. Cats have a tendency to get into flower bouquets that could be toxic. There are several safe non toxic flowers including Roses, Sunflowers, Petunias, Ge**er Daisys, Snapdragons, Orchids, Freesias, African Violets and Wax Flowers to name a few.

The first lesson to be learned about Lyme disease infection is that, it manifests completely differently in man’s best friend compared with the human experience. When canine illness does occur, it does not begin to manifest for weeks to months after infection at which point arthritis signs are noticed. Tick control is an effective means of preventing infection. The process of transmitting Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme Disease) from the tick to your dog requires a minimum of 48 hours, which means that if the tick is removed within 48 hours of attachment, the spirochete cannot be transmitted and your dog will not get the disease. This is why keeping your dogs flea and tick prevention current is so important!
