WE HAVE A CHAMPION IN THE HOUSE (again 😉)

Last month, Bowie, owned by Amy (radiology RVT), competed in the 2025 North American NOTRA (National Oval Track Racing Association) Whippet National race meet, which is one of the largest in history with 114 Whippets entered!

After four spectacular, undefeated races, Bowie came out on top for the second year in a row! He continues to prove what an incredible athlete he is through his love for racing. ❤️

Bowie also earned 1st place in the conformation match prior to racing, taking home the title of Best Race Champion Dog! This achievement showcases not only his athletic ability but also his exceptional structure, true form and function in harmony.

This year’s event was especially exciting (and a little nerve-wracking) for Amy, since Bowie has been rehabbing from a couple soft tissue injuries that he sustained in April. Thanks to a dedicated team of veterinarians, especially those at VCA AVCC, Bowie was healthy, confident, and ready to race! 🏁💪

Before your pet ever sets paw in our building, Brenda’s already been hard at work with reviewing medical records, chatting via phone call through what to expect, explaining what our doctors can do, and breaking down costs so there are no surprises. Her goal is to be completely transparent while giving you all the support you need before committing to a surgical procedure for your pet.

When it’s time for a consultation, she’ll meet with you again to go over the surgery estimate line by line, answer all your questions, and make sure you feel completely comfortable moving forward with your pet's procedure.

Not only is she one of our star Patient Care Coordinators, she is also the keeper of keys, the storyteller, the project manager, the exterminator, Mrs. Fix It, and our git-r-done girl- but those are tales for another time. 😆

Basically, Brenda makes scheduling surgery smoother than your dog’s freshly shaved belly, and that’s saying something! Think of her as your surgical spirit guide - she is more than ready to help you make an educated decision regarding your pet's health, and we can confirm she is FANTASTIC at what she does. ✨
