Jasmine's face says it all, the winter blues have arrived just in time for the first day of winter. Although it's a cold and gloomy today, it's the perfect opportunity to prep your pets for the brisk cold ahead. Here's some tips to weather the winter with your pet! ๐พ
โ Ice, snow, and salt can irritate your pets paws. Use pet-safe booties or apply a protective paw balm before going outside.
โ Shorten walks and limit outdoor time to necessary potty breaks.
โ Shivering, lethargy, whining, or paw-lifting could indicate your pet is too cold.
โ If your pet shows signs of hypothermia, warm them gradually with blankets while seeking veterinary care immediately.
โ Create opportunities for exercise to keep your pet physically and mentally stimulated when outdoor time is limited.
โ Senior pets with arthritis may feel stiffer in the cold. Joint supplements or a heated bed may add comfort. (We've got you covered when it comes to joint supplements!)
