Corbin is a 6-year-old, 67-pound mix of Black Mouth Cur and Pitbull, with a heart just as big as his floppy ears. He’s been absolutely thriving in his foster home and is more than ready to find his forever family.

This guy is neutered, house-trained, and crate-trained—a total gentleman around the house. He’s quick to learn your routine and is super respectful of your space (unless there’s peanut butter involved… then he may inch a little closer).

Corbin is calm, easygoing, and low-key. He rarely barks or jumps, and he’s happiest with a good walk full of sniff breaks, a toy to toss around (frisbees and stuffies are his jam), and plenty of nap time. His dream day? About 8 hours of napping, 8 hours of sleeping, and 8 hours for walks, snacks, and supervised toy destruction. Balance is everything.

With his beautiful golden coat and sweet, gentle personality, Corbin turns heads wherever he goes. He’s got excellent crate manners and just loves being near his people. He’s not super snuggly, but he’ll happily chill in the same room as you and is always down for a good head scratch or belly rub from someone he trusts.

His foster home doesn’t have other pets or kiddos, but Corbin has done well with respectful kids (ages 4+) and dogs his size in other settings. We’re not sure how he feels about cats or small dogs yet. He’s more of a homebody anyway—car rides aren’t really his thing (he gets a bit queasy, but an antacid helps), and he’s perfectly content just hanging out at home with his humans.

His foster family absolutely adores him and knows that the right family is going to fall in love just as fast as they did.

Estate Style Pop-Up Market: Shop for a Cause!
Ready to treasure hunt for a cause? Join Saturday, April 26 for a unique, estate-style pop-up market that benefits ARPO and features some of our most adorable adoptable animals!

Wander through a beautifully styled local Indy home, thoughtfully staged and filled with handpicked vintage finds, trendy clothes, and handmade goods from amazing local makers. Then, head to the backyard for an outdoor rescue market—where you’ll find even more treasures and get to meet some very sweet adoptable pets!

We’re also shining a spotlight on some of ARPO’s longest residents and special animals who could really use a little extra love and attention. Even if you’re not looking to adopt, you can still help by sharing their stories and supporting the rescues doing incredible work.

Shopping details:
- In-house shopping: Timed entry slots every 30 minutes starting at 9AM
- Backyard-only shopping: Open entry all day
- Address will be shared with registered shoppers a few days before the event
- General location: within 1 mile of Bottleworks on Indy’s Near Eastside

Sweet Mama Osha Needs Our Help 👷‍♀️

Osha, a loving mama cat with a litter of kittens, recently faced a serious medical emergency. She was diagnosed with intussusception—a dangerous condition where part of her intestine telescopes into itself. This can be caused by GI disease or viruses, and it often requires urgent surgery.

Osha underwent a complex procedure to remove the affected section of her intestines and had a drain placed to monitor for complications. She’s currently hospitalized and receiving round-the-clock care, including pain management, fluids, and antibiotics. The veterinary team says she’s being very sweet and cooperative—and they all adore her name!

While she’s recovering well so far, she must remain at the hospital until the drain is removed and she’s stable—this could take anywhere from 1 to 4 days. After discharge, Osha will need quiet recovery time away from her kittens to let her body heal and avoid risking her sutures.

The total cost of her emergency surgery and hospitalization is estimated between $3,000 and $6,000.

Adoptable Alert! 🎉

Meet Kevin — a 1-2 year old former stray who’s ready to trade in his outdoor adventures for a cozy forever home!

Kevin is a total sweetheart who lives for pets, head scratches, and ear rubs. He’ll happily curl up next to you, offering gentle nuzzles in exchange for love. This playful guy also has tons of energy and would thrive with another playful kitty friend! He’s always zooming around with his foster siblings and has a soft spot for toys — especially tennis balls. Bonus: he’s even BFFs with his canine foster sister!

When he’s not on play patrol, Kevin’s all about that lounge life. Whether it’s snoozing in a sunny hammock, cuddling on a fuzzy couch blanket, or perched in a cat tree while you work, Kevin simply wants to be close to his person. He may be a little shy when guests visit, but he’s getting braver every day.

This handsome guy is also food motivated and never says no to a treat or two!

Kevin’s birthday is 1/28/24. He has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, tested FIV/FeLV negative, has a negative f***l, and is up-to-date on rabies, FVRCP, and FeLV vaccines.

Hi there! My name is Deacon, and my foster mom says I’m a super awesome good boy—and I have to agree! I’m a medium-sized, ridiculously handsome brown pup with adorable floppy ears and a heart full of love.

Some of my favorite things? Treats (of course), belly rubs, snuggles, and romping around the yard with one of the resident dogs or our house guest, Jack the Mastiff. I’ve also been working on my leash manners—foster mom says I’m doing pretty well! I love going on walks and wag my tail at everyone I meet. I can get a little excited and bark when I see a new dog, but we’re working on that.

I’m crate trained (no accidents!) and have done great being out at night. I’m also doing awesome with house training. I get along with cats, though some of the resident kitties think I’m a little *too* enthusiastic—but I mean well!

I’m not much of a barker, which foster mom really appreciates, but don’t worry—I’ll let you know if something spooky’s going on, like a burglar or a monster under the bed.

Welcome our tiniest new arrivals!

These 8 precious babies are just 1–2 weeks old—some haven’t even opened their eyes yet. They were discovered by a kindhearted Good Samaritan under a riding lawnmower 😩. She gently rescued them from between the blades, where they’d likely been crying and sitting in their own urine for days.

Thankfully, they were safely delivered to one of our incredible bottle feeders, who reports they immediately latched onto the bottle with hungry little mews.

As kitten season ramps up, we need your help.❣️
These eight alone could go through an entire jar of KMR (kitten milk replacer) in a single week. Your support helps us prepare for the many more fragile lives we’ll be called on to save this season.
