ARPO ADOPTION EVENT

🐾 Last Irvington Farmers Market of the season! 🐾
Join ARPO this Sunday, October 12th from noon–3 PM at Ellenberger Park (5301 E St Clair St) on Indy’s East Side.

Come meet our adoptable cats and dogs — each one ready to find a forever family! We’ll also have doggie clothes, sweaters, and Halloween outfits for sale, with all proceeds supporting ARPO’s rescue work. Donations, no matter how small, make a difference.

DOGS:

🐶 Wapiti – Playful, affectionate coonhound mix who loves walks, belly rubs, and adventure. Great with pets and happiest with a fence and plenty of chew toys!

🐶 Nicholas – Smart, affectionate, and blind—but that doesn’t slow him down! Nick loves walks, snuggles, and figuring out the world in his own way. He’s hoping for a patient, loving forever family.

🐶 Millie – Sweet, playful, and well-mannered. She enjoys walks, plays nicely with dogs, cats, and kids, and just needs a bit of time to warm up to men.

CATS:

🐱 Mimosa & Bellini – Adorable dilute calico sisters from the “cocktail litter.” They love snuggles, chase toys, and nap together in cozy spots.

🐱 Roger – Curious, cuddly, and athletic with a heart of gold (and strong Colts pride — #81 forever!). Ready to be your loyal adventure buddy.

🐱 Craig – Teddy bear–faced cuddlebug with a big purr and playful spirit. Another proud Colts fan who’s always ready for company and fun.

🐱 Maui – A stunning long-haired beauty with a calm presence and quiet confidence. She’s affectionate and enjoys peaceful time with her people.

🐱 Fiji – Gentle orange boy with a calm, loving nature. This total cuddlebug also loves gentle playtime and soft blankets for long naps.

🐱 Sicily – Spirited calico kitten with a heart full of adventure! Always the first to explore, pounce, and make new friends.

🌳 While you’re there, enjoy Ellenberger Park’s mature trees, walking and biking trails, and family-friendly vibe — plus all the great finds at the Irvington Farmers Market: fresh seasonal produce, baked goods, local crafts, pottery, jewelry, and delicious prepared foods.

Meet Truffles — a special-needs kitten with a lot of love to share ❤️

Birthday: May 19, 2025

Truffles is a tiny survivor with a purr bigger than her whole body. She came to us after a good Samaritan rescued her from the street. At just a few weeks old, she was struggling to walk and bleeding, and her future looked uncertain. ARPO decided to give her a second chance — and she has blossomed into one of the sweetest, most affectionate kittens you could ever meet.

She was diagnosed with a “tail-pull” injury and multiple pelvic fractures, likely from being hit by a car. Her fractures have healed beautifully, and today she runs, jumps, plays, climbs and cuddles like any other kitten. Because of the injury, she cannot urinate on her own and needs her bladder expressed a few times a day. She is also fecally incontinent, but with a simple routine — which we will gladly teach her adopter — her care is very manageable.

Despite these medical needs, Truffles is pure joy. She loves curling up in a warm lap, burrowing under blankets and purring so loudly you can hear her across the room. She plays happily with toys, adores her scratching post and enjoys the company of both cats and dogs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Truffles is looking for a very special home — someone with veterinary, rescue or medical experience, or simply someone willing to learn and commit to her care. In return, she will give you endless affection, entertainment and gratitude. If you’re ready to open your heart to a kitten who has overcome the odds and just wants to be loved, Truffles may be your perfect match.

Responsibilities include:
Posting about fundraisers, adoption events, and other ARPO happenings
Featuring new arrivals and adoptable animals
Managing public questions and engagement on Facebook & Instagram
Attending portions of board meetings to stay up-to-date on promotions
