After 8 years in the boarding business, we have made the final decision to close our doors April 16th, 2024. This is a very personal decision, and we have loved and treasured every creature that has graced our doors and pastures. We would like to extend a “thank you” to everyone that has liked and shared our posts. An extra special “thank you” to all that have trusted us to care for their best friends over the course of these years, and the biggest “thank you” of all to our loving furries that I will miss watching as they frolic. It’s been a blessing. We wish everyone happy trails! 🩶💚

Has anyone ever told you it’s ok?

It’s ok to be proud of yourself, to give yourself a pat on the back and congratulate yourself on a job well done. Horses don’t ride themselves and even the most “straight forward” horses do require a level of ability most will never possess, so never shy away from giving yourself credit where it’s due.

It’s ok to want to scream, cry and throw things sometimes, it’s ok to be angry and frustrated when you have a pole down or miss out on qualifying by one spot. We are one of the only sports in the world that involves two hearts, two minds and two opinions that won’t always agree, so don’t be afraid to get off, walk away and have a good cry - we’re only human after all.

It’s ok to be scared, to be nervous or push yourself out of your comfort zone, you’ll never find your limit if you don’t push it a bit too far. If you feel a weird excited nauseous feeling at the thought of jumping that bit higher or riding that next level up, that probably means you’re just about ready. Never be scared of making a mistake, be scared of never knowing what you’re really capable of.

It’s ok to want to give up sometimes, it’s ok to wonder why on earth we pay all this money to keep and ride these ridiculously fragile, expensive lawn mowers that break our hearts and our wallets. Every non-equestrian questions our judgement daily, so it’s only natural to question ourselves every once in a while.

It’s ok to not want to do any more than you’re doing. If a Sunday hack keeps you happy, keep doing it. If you’re happy jumping 90 and the thought of jumping 100 scares the crap out of you, have fun at 90. You’ve got nothing to prove, so do more of what makes you happy.

You are not alone in how you feel.
It really is ok.

Something to look forward to in 2023!

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023, ending the twice-annual changing of clocks in a move promoted by supporters advocating brighter afternoons and more economic activity.
