At Pet Pleasers we have dedicated our lives to giving your pet the highest care available when you cannot be there to provide it for them. We understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet behind. We would like to offer you a personal tour of our facility and spend some one on one time with you answering all of your questions so you can leave your pet with peace of mind. Please remember that
our kennel is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (Please note that drop off and pic up times are NOT offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each pet has it's own indoor suite here at Pet Pleasers. Our dog boarding consists of two different sections. We offer what are considered Indoor/Outdoor runs, which is usually where the medium to large sized dogs are boarded. The indoor portion is connected by a doggie door to an outdoor run, fenced with chain link, which are 18 feet long. In this section your dog can see it's neighbors from the outside run, through the fencing. Inside there are half walls which offer your dog privacy from the dogs on either side. If your dog is friendly we will take him into one of our secure, fenced yards to let him exercise and play. Please note that it is not regular practice for us to mix large breed dogs together for play time. We will, however, let them in the yard that is just outside one of our outdoor run sections so your pet can socialize with other dogs through the fence. This way they can see and meet different dogs without the possibility of getting injured if a fight were to happen. This rule helps keep your dog(s) safe, as well as our human staff. We will toss a ball, play a game of chase, or just let him sniff around if that is what he wishes to do. Your dog's wish is our command. We do our best to provide outside time as many times as possible throughout the day. After all, we are here to provide him with love and affection while you are away. Here at Pet Pleasers we always make time to play! If your dog is a small breed or just too nervous to be around other barking dogs we offer a separate section called "The Puppy Lounge". Here your dog will lodge in his own separate quarters, which are enclosed on three sides to help give your pet a "den-like security". Here they cannot see other dogs, which helps them adjust to their new environment quickly. Dog's lodging in our Puppy Lounge have their own private yard for potty and play purposes. Small dogs that are non-aggressive are allowed to frolic and play together in their private yard. All dogs are always under constant supervision while they play together. If your dog is staying in the Puppy Lounge is too timid or nervous to play with others, they will be allowed in the yard alone and will get to play with some of our friendly human staff members! Here at Pet Pleasers we start our day no later than 7:30am. The dogs are taken out to tend to their potty business while our staff sanitizes the inside suites of the kennel. Fresh clean blankets are then laid down for your pet's comfort, if they do not eat blankets, of course (ha, ha, yes, some dogs LOVE to rip up and eat blankets which can be very dangerous). Their water dishes are replaced with clean fresh water and cookies are placed in their room for a yummy morning surprise! Once the kennel has been completely cleaned and prepared for the dogs, they are let back inside so they can rest a bit. We like the dogs to be rested before eating their morning meal. While the dogs are dining in their rooms the outside runs are cleaned and sanitized as well. As the runs dry, the dogs rest inside for about an hour after breakfast. If they are allowed outside too soon after eating, they may get a belly ache and throw up their breakfast. After their bellies settle they are let out again. Depending on the weather, the doggie doors in between the inside and outside remain open so they can go in and out as they please. From this time until the evening the dogs are taken into the yard for some fun. If your dog potties in the outside run it is immediately picked up and sanitized to ensure your dog stays clean and smelling fresh. All of the dogs (if friendly with us humans) get kisses and hugs and some specialized attention. We even sit in their rooms with them, on the floor, and snuggle with them! To us, this is the best part of the job and what makes it all worth our while.
After dinner, when the bellies are once again rested and settled, the dogs are taken outside again. They are let out for the last time of the night around 9:30-10:00pm. Once inside for the night, each dog gets a special cookie treat as a late night bedtime snack! Here at Pet Pleasers we offer state of the art Cat Boarding for your feline friends in an area separate from our canine friends. We have two options for our cat boarding as well. We have a single cat suite that is enclosed on three sides, which gives your cat a feeling of privacy. We also offer an extra large suite which is suitable for two cats from the same household. This enclosure offers views from all four sides and is portable. This allows up to place it directly in front of a window if your cat likes a view of the outside! This enclosure also includes a perch for your pet's comfort. The perch is covered with lambskin bedding that can be removed and washed in between guests. With the owner's permission catnip and treats are offered to our feline friends. If your cat likes to he held or cuddled with, we are more than happy to do so! In case of an emergency we have a vet on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your dog becomes ill we will do our best to take your pet to your regular Veterinarian. We feel this is best because your vet knows your pet and it's health history. If it is after hours and we cannot contact your Vet we would either ask one of our favorite local vets to come to the kennel to see your dog or we would take your pet to the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Hudson Valley located on Noxon Road. We would, of course, try to contact you via cell phone or emergency phone numbers provided by you. In the case where you cannot be reached, we will make treatment decisions for your pet, as stated in the contract signed at the time of drop off.
